Not selected for the West Indies, must be a really bad influence in the dressing room. Cook and Bell already not going too, so not much experience at the top of the order. Time's a changing.
Really? Blimey! First Flower, now Cook AND Pietersen dropped eh. There will be some frantic keyboarding going on in a bedroom right now...
Just resting I think Ryhilltyke. KP most likely will play in T/20's in Bangladesh then go to IPL then one day series against Sri Lanka, Test series and then into India series with ODI's and tests first which will finish in September. Cook and Bell just need time away. Cook will go back to the farm and do something he enjoys. Lambing season's something he seems to enjoy and he will just be able to concentrate on that and not the pressures of international sport. Bell needs resting too. 31 nearly 32 and England will have to pick and choose his games. Tests are the major thing and they should come first not some one day series in West Indies.
Sounds like the rest will do them good Nobody challenging them at the mkment Biggest risk is Ashley giles getting top job
Not sure what thats about. The facts are that he'll be able to get more in a week now then anyone else gets in a year and depends on how much cricket he wants to play but he'll be able to be the highest paid cricketer in the world. The ECB have made a massive mistake and they need to come out and start explaining themselves because people will think this is crazy and also I wonder what the sponsors think. He's the biggest cricketer for them in the dressing room. Love to hear what Giles thinks, good friend of KP and surely someone that he would want around as it looks highly likely he'll become the boss in all formats.
Paul Downton has said, "However everyone was aware that there was a need to begin the long term planning after the Australia tour. Therefore we have decided the time is right to look to the future and start to rebuild not only the team but also team ethic and philosophy." Seems fairly obvious why he's been kicked out of the England set up.
Not the player to do it though BigLil. he's the one that apparently helps the younger players the best. Joe Roots come out and said that along with a lot of other players. Compton another who said it.
Sorry Phil, but if he wasn't a bad influence within the dressing room, then the statement wouldn't have said what it has, irrespective of what one or two players may say. Also, the decision was a unanimous one from the England management team, including Ashley Giles.
