Me and funstopper general (missis), have miraculously made it to our 10th wedding anniversary and to prove to her that im not a typical romanticless tarn lad and to celebrate this amazing acheivement im planning to take her away for the neet (not till july though). Any ideas or recommendations. It must meet following requirements, greater compliance could result in increased sexual activity on the evening of said day. * plush surroundings * no more than a hours drive * nice hotel * spa and massage facilities * nice restaurant in hotel. Ive looked ay Rudding park at harrogate and that looks nice, very pricey but the old goats worth it. If you have any suggestions then they would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You'll not beat Rudding Park mate. If you're prepared to pay the price, go with that. There's plenty of other good ones, but Rudding Park is the best, so I don't really want to suggest anywhere that's not as good.
You could try this, not been myself but I know people who like it very much http://www.clumberparkhotel.com/
Before you splash out the money, remember that its all downhill after 10 years so you might want to divert some cash into your escape fund...
Tempest Arms between Skipton and ****heroe ..... no Spa that I remember but some of the rooms have hot tubs http://www.tempestarms.co.uk/
You could go and stay at The Black Swan, Helmsley, then go to the spa at The Feversham Arms across the road, and then take her to dinner at the nearby Star at Harome (Michelin *). Proper job that would be.....
Harrogate again but you could book a separate hotel and visit the Turkish Baths. Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from on the evening.
Yep.....Hotel du Vin is quality........across road to the right, Turkish Spa and Baths........and Betty's Tea Shop. Drum and Monkey restaurant in Harrogate is superb, particularly for seafood.
Agree with all those recommendations. Drum and Monkey may need booking though if it's a weekend visit, used to be booked up weeks in advance.
Great suggestions there lads. Really appreciate it. I think a bit of time on the old tinter tonight researching. I dont mind paying for quality but hate places that are a bit pretentious and riddiculously expensive for the sake of being riddiculously expensive. Cheers
If you are looking for just somewhere to eat and in Harrogate there is Knaresborough just 3 miles down the road where I highly recommend Carriages, has a really good tapas bar and an a la carte menu, reasonably priced and top notch. Great atmosphere in there too. Fantastic beer garden too, small but overlooks Knaresborough train station and the viaduct which is novel. It's actually built above the tunnel to York so the trains drive under where you sit.
Pipe and Glass at South Dalton near Beverley. No spa, but just two superb rooms, great food and dead romantic.
