Tomorrow.......… Matt's update. Perhaps Bill Gates has been sighted at Oakwell? Or maybe our new sponsor is Prince Charles? Can't wait to get tomorrow's Chron!
Depends what you call "within days" ****. I suppose until we've all croaked it it's still technically possible. Could be a heatwave next week, I hear!
Read your post again. Your first sentence, then your third sentence. And there's the answer. MM never said it WOULD be completed within days. He reported that a potential takeover COULD be done within days. Of course, I COULD get hit by lightning as well. But seen as the club all but admitted it, I think the only thing he can be knocked for is putting it out there at that particular time. And Ben Mansford agrees.
Only thing I've seen from the club is the official statement. I think Murray can be knocked for fairly baseless speculation about the imminence of a takeover.
If it had been baseless i'm sure our club statement would have said so instead of being a pointless statement that didn't deny the story or say it had truth in it. The guy the takeover speculation about don't you think he'd have spoke to the Chronicle when they asked for a word if he didn't have interest? Looks to me like there is some truth in him signing something during negotiations where he's not allowed to speak to the press.
Hardly. I refer you to orsenkaht's first reply to me. He called me ****. I called him ****. Barnsley parlance isn't it?
That's way I see it. It were "****", "love" or "duck" when I worked underground. Nothing else meant! So, timescale for the takeover then Whitey?
No idea. It was news to me as I'm sure it was to you. If you want my opinion, I hope any takeover is a good few decades away. I hope the Cryne family retain ownership.
Matt Murray is by far the worst reporter ever been involved with the stories from Oakwell, should stick to saving the world with his Christian beliefs
Oh dear. Reporter reports potential news shocker. Readers can't differentiate between could and would its a sad indictment of the education system. I feel ***** for calling Michael Gove a lovely person now. Actually strike that Michael Gove is a lovely person.
Really? Personally I can't see the club making any progress with Cryne in charge. Ok, it's a safe-ish pair of hands and will keep the club in a reasonable state of financial health but I can't see us getting any further up the football pyramid and the likelihood is we'll drop into League One. I certainly don't want to see the club in the hands of someone who might jeopardise it in any way, but the idea of just plodding along under Cryne's ownership for decades is depressing in the extreme! Greater financial investment is required if we are to make any progress whatsoever and in the ideal world I'd love a responsible owner to take over who's got more cash!
Tomorrows Chronicle front page... "New international hub airport could be built in Dodworth" or "Massive Hadron Collider could be built beneath Barnsley as the one in Switzerland might not be massive enough" Anything could happen - is it a moral and dignified approach to journalism and selling newspapers? No it's not, and I think that is why people are so annoyed with Matt Murray. I still feel quite angry about those fabricated quotes published last week. A massive insult to anyone with a modicum of intelligence.
