I am so ashamed as well...

I told my partner she had to do, but no. she never got around to doing so I've had to do it.

I mean he's only 5 years old so he will grow out of it.

    But.........

I have just had to buy him a Manchester United Kit, (all because his friends all have them as well) they never said it was easy been a parent.

    I know it's wrong...

Very disappointing news there, you being a total failure as a responsible parent.

Do expect a knock on your door from social services some time soon.

BTW I really hope your young lad enjoys his shirt..... but not too much.

As a kid I always had a Leeds kit until the age of about 8 or 9 when I started understanding football and realising that Leeds was a strict no go. Always supported barnsley I just never quite understood the game until I got older.

He'll grow out of it :p

As a keeper, I idolised Schmeichel and his shirts were all I would wear until I was 10.

I had a Wednesday shirt before I knew better.

Still disgusted with myself 23 years later.

I had the same problem with my son when he was at junior school. Our outcome was somewhat different to yours.
You'll be able to convert him from the Dark Side, mate.:D

Can I just offer my condolences at this hard time.

I got my son some barnsley bibs and sent the picture to be in the programme then put the programme in his keepsakes box so when he gets older and the day comes I can show him the picture and say sorry mate your a tarn fan I've suffered now it's your turn.

He's only 3 months on Sunday so I've put the work in early!

A number of years ago when my daughter was at school she came home with a Leeds utd ticket as a reward for 100% attendance.
After that i made sure she was off ill for the odd day the year after.
Main thing was she is a Barnsley fan and understood the insult so she left an empty seat at Elland road.

Having said that she is now with a Wednesday supporter and she was egged on to go to a wednesday game last season. At that game the photographer got a picture of them and now they are being used in the clothing catalogue and they are on the e tickets and several promotions. However she is still a Barnsley fan. :)

From the age of five up to about ten, I had a variety of shirts bought by relatives. One uncle bought me a Man Utd away kit every birthday (August), I chose to get a Liverpool shirt every Summer (Crown Paints/Candy era). They were on TV every Sunday. I got a Real Madrid top on my first foreign holiday, Barcelona the year afterwards. My uncle is a Villa fan so I got one of them one year. I had four different Wednesday shirts as a kid, as most my mates were Owls, even attended Hillsborough with them once (beat Ipswich 4-0 or summat).

But I went to Oakwell every week. I was a Tarn supporter.

Even in my teens I bought other shirts. Brazil, Norway (when we had Fjortoft), USA tops. I had a purple Spurs away top with 'Dominguez' ont back, and a yellow one with 'Klinsmann' on it. England shirts by the bucket load, of course.

However, I haven't bought a football top since 2005 (which was a Tarn home shirt, year we came back up).

So it dunt mean he'll end up a United fan, Kev. And anyway, by the time he gets older they'll be in division three or summat. Hopefully.

There's actual photos of me and my brother in Sheffield Wednesday kits when we were younger. We were taken away from our parents shortly afterwards.

Strange thing is, we're all season ticket holders at Oakwell so I'm unsure as to why we were wearing them. My uncle is a big Wednesday fan so I assume he'd bought them.

Slightly different but my Nephew quite often wears his BFC shirt(s) and he loves them!

I was showing him old clips on Youtube and he kept shouting out, "Come on Barnsley!" "Goal for Barnsley!" "Lots of happy people"

The only reds fan in Wiesbaden/Frankfurt I bet :D
