    Babb and Winterburn on the flanks with Scales centre with someone else would have been a pretty good defence of premiership experience I have to say.

    I do recall Babb being mentioned, but not sure about the others. Judging by the contracts that Bassett handed out to the players we had that were out of contract though I shudder to think who he might have brought in!

    Barnard was out of contract
    I believe he wanted £7k a week and club said no.
    Ended up at Grimsby on £700 a week instead.

    The contract issue was pretty much how I remember it though.

    Always thought Bassett was a good manager and we was unlucky not to win playoffs against Ipswich . Hope we arnt unlucky again tomorrow against them
