Just caught up with my weekly fix of BFC you tube videos (I work away and play footie Saturdays so don't get to many games), and once more the under 18's win! looking back through the videos, there looks to be some real talent in there, beating teams who historically have produced players that have gone on to do relatively well In the game, and most of the time convincingly. It begs the question, IF we go, say, three or four more games without a win and look really down and out, would DW give some of these youngsters a few games? Looking at a couple of the team goals, as well individual efforts from players such as Nana why the hell not? If anything I personally think the future looks bright for us. Keep the faith in DW, give him the time and patience he needs, and he will come good.

Hemsworth is the expert on underage players. If it was up to him we wouldn't even bother with a first team.

It does look like another healthy bunch coming through though, I agree. But is it good for them to be thrown into a failing team, should our season effectively be over? I'd say not. I think it's always been healthier to introduce the young uns to a consistent, fluid team - where the pressure is less and there is some good form to carry them along.

I said it when Wilson was appointed I reckon a step back in leagues could turn out to be a blessing. We can start to promote from within, we are also in a stronger position as a club than the last time we suffered relegation from this level

We'd be properly fooked if we went down. At least we're not still paying Shearon.

Not seen them for a while but they aren't the best of groups.

    Nana's only a small guy.

Relegation would be a disaster for us as a club.

Not many teams do. Personally I think we'd struggle but having said that I'd be a lot more optimistic if we kept Danny.

Exactly my point, I think Wilson would be able to do blood the youngsters in the league below, mixed with some experienced players I reckon we would come straight back. Would be wonderful to see a few victories too - the longer we just scrap around at the bottom of this league the more and more fans we will see depart. A good run next season, get a feel good atmosphere then when we return to this level under Wilson I truly believe we will establish ourselves as a mid table (minimum) club - like we were before the laurel and hardy from Rochdale came and dismantled us

To be honest, in retrospect, it's almost unfortunate that we avoided relegation last season and gave Flitcroft the job (he probably wasted most of the money we saved). I'd rather be watching a team of our players with the younger players integrated rather than yet more bloody firefighting with loan players. In just sick of this perpetual struggling with no light the end of the tunnel with players I don't identify with because they are only here for a couple of months.

Sorry for the negativity. But I'd rather see us doing well even if we didn't get promoted playing Digby, RNL and Rose regularly rather than more short termism.

For me enough is enough. We need to refocus and regroup.

Still cannot see how relegation is a positive.

The loss of income could finish us.

And look at the likes of Portsmouth Bristol City Stockport County Grimsby Town Tranmere Rovers Luton Town who gave all been second tier clubs in recent years.

I agree, none of them looked anything special in the recent Youth Cup tie v Newcastle. Very poor all round.

I am comparing it against another Youth Cup game v Newcastle a couple of years previous when Rose, Clark, Stones & Digby all looked superb. None of the current lot look remotely as good.

I am confused as to what difference his size makes? Some players need to bulk out because their position calls for it, some don't, correct me if i am wrong, but is Nana not a forward? If he has the brains, pace and movement to find space and get a shot away, then great. As a centre back myself i have always hated playing against "little whippets" can never get near them..... but i wasn't just eluding to him, there has been what looks like some realy good team goals scored in some of the previous few highlight reels i've watched.

There was also another post reply which mentioned, you would prefer to play youngsters in a fluid, in form team......We seem to struggle with that bit, i'm not usually negative, but with the fan base we have, and based on our positions in the league the last few seasons, i just cannot see a way up....without some decent investment, so why not just give them a go start drip feeding he youngsters we have some first team football and see how they react to it?

Thanks for the responses, especially from you guys who go to watch them, i only have the luxury of you tube to keep up. so its appreciated.

    Maybe so.

My point with the fluid team is that we do have talent in there and if we can keep Mellis and Frimpong then hat area of the team could look really good. But at the end of it the manager needs to try them. I was amazed Digby didn't play Saturday, really amazed. O'brien on the wing for shea and Digby in the middle. but i seem to keep saying this and different managers don't try them for a run of games.

You seem to know your stuff, do you manage a local team?
