Still not fully recovered from the lurgy. However, much more important than that, Laura was rushed into Carlisle Hospital on Monday. We've got her home now, after further checks with the Renal Consultant she's under at the Northern General. Just when we thought things like this were something of the past. Three points on Saturday, with Paddy dancing through their defence, would be a great end to what's been a pretty **** week so far.
Cheers, Paul. Things have been going really well for her at uni, so this is a bit of a knock back to put it mildly. Assuming there's no further deterioration, she'll be with us for about a fortnight. She's already arranged for her work to be sent through, so she can continue with her studies.
Hey really sorry to hear your news on Laura. Hope this set back is a temporary blip and she is up and about again soon. Wishing her well mate.
Thanks Ian. She's determined to get back as soon as possible. They're going to be doing more forensic work in the field next month, so to speak, and she can't wait to get started. According to Laura, the term for folk doing this work is 'field mice'. They'll be doing more laboratory based work from September and the folk who do this type of work are labled 'lab rats'. Laura's a tough cookie and won't let this setback get her down.
Certainly are. My best wishes to Laura and to you all, I hope that she recovers quickly. Oh, and tell her not to work too hard while she's supposed to take it easy.
Best wishes to Laura Kev, oh, and to you too. She will come through, I've never had the pleasure of meeting Laura but from what I've seen on here from both herself and what others have posted she is a truly remarkable young lady and deserves all the luck that comes her way. No doubt she will be spoiled rotten when she's home and rightly so, as you say, every thing pales into insignificance when it's your kids.
Sorry to hear that Kev but she'll bounce back like she has done so many times before! Send her our best wishes! It's a shame you can't come tonight after I left that bar tab for you
Some things certainly are more important than football, really hope things go well for you and your family mate.
Thank you, Andy. I'm certain Laura will soon be fighting fit again. I, on the other hand, always strive to be running away from fighting fit!
Cheers mate. She's resting now. But I know that once she gets up, she'll be humbled and touched by the kind comments from your good self and everyone else.
