His manager at Wolves, Mick McCarthy – who is now at tomorrow's opponents Ipswich – said: "Frimpong is a good player and a good signing for Barnsley. I was very impressed with his ability and his personality. He was very unlucky that he had a bad knee injury in a game at QPR which set him back because he missed a lot of games. But he's got a great chance to impress with Barnsley now. He's only out for one game so he'll soon be back fighting for his place. He's a physical player and sometimes that can go too far but he's a good lad and a good player."
Mick knows his stuff and I really hope he comes good. Arsenal fans here say he's a good player, plenty of ability - but dodgy temperament and easily wound up. We've seen the second qualities , now let's see the first - starting tomorrow at Donny. If he keeps us up, I'll be shagging him - no worry about that.
Perhaps Danny's strategy should be to immediately substitute him whenever he picks up a yellow card. That will get across the message that he needs to calm down a bit as well as saving us from going down to 10 men.
I don't think he had the time to be honest, by the time a sub would've been ready he'd already got a 2nd booking
always makes me chuckle, managers talking about how great other players are. if he rated him that much, why didn't he sign him?
