Surprised this hasn't been brought up, especially given the weight of opinion against Barnsley fans and their pyro associated antics. I was towards the top right of the away end and cannot remember ever seeing more coins and bottles hurled into the away end by Donny's pathetic 'singing section' ever before at an away game. I counted about ten, two of which whizzed past the lads in front of me at a speed which would easily result in blindness to an eye. Now I don't agree with smoke bombs, but I would much rather be near one of those things than have a coin embed itself in my head. Absolute luck no one got a serious facial injury.

Three or four of us complained to the police, but apparently a couple were seen being thrown from our end too so it doesn't matter. Good to know.

Just one of the many reasons I don't go to away matches (except Leeds as my dad likes to go to them).

Hang on a second, Eaststand Lower will be here to let you know that they're actually proper fans creating an atmosphere.

I was stood in that corner second half and got hit by a coin just a few seconds after the 'shoes off, for the Barnsley' chant. Luckily it hit my jacket and I didn't realise what it was until I looked down. Also, There were a few plastic bottles flying about mainly from the Donny fans as I remember one of their fans throwing one and completely missing us hitting the roof of the stand he himself was sat in. Resulting in a response of 'what the fcking hell was that' from the BFC fans.

Strange one this, there's a thread on the VSC site criticising your fans, I thought today had more of a derby edge than usual which is how it should be, although when we played at yours I was in Barnsley all day & saw plenty of Rovers fans drinking with their Barnsley fan mates/work colleagues etc. I saw things thrown from both ends, apparently it started when a smoke bomb hit a young Rovers fan who needed treatment. The young singers are mainly football shirt wearing types whilst your lot seemed to be young chavs who wear the gear but would **** themselves if owt kicked off. Anyway here's to doing it all again next season hopefully.
Whoever bought those smoke canisters needs a word with their supplier, I've seen more smoke outside a boozer

Probably half of one etc. Good atmosphere for the most part to be fair, certainly more banter than usual!

Tranmere away about 2000ish, I arrived home in profit with the amount of money they threw at us that day. Took a few on the back of the head though and they didn't half sting, one in the eye could definitely result in blindness.
