I remember him. We won loads of games and kept loads of clean sheets when he was here. His kicking was bang on the money. Commanded his box superbly. Etc and so on. Wake the **** up, Phil. One of the players you don't rate scored twice today. Another, came off the bench and helped turn the tide. But yes, blame Steele for a mistake. Your 'boy' Johnstone in the Pikey net dropped a bollock as well, only without a defender in his way. Numpty.
I reluctantly have to agree Hemworth's opinion on Steele today, for whatever reason he just didn't look comfortable. Yes he made a couple of decent saves, but they weren't anything you wouldn't expect a Championship keeper to save. I haven't seen the goals back but from where I was sitting he perhaps should have done better with Coppinger's second, obviously we were a long way away from the first goal so it's hard to judge the distances but with hindsight it needed a good fist clear rather than an attempt to catch where it might have been clear he was going to collide with another player.
I thought you lot were ok today, we should have gone for it at 2-1 & sealed the game which I think was there for the taking at the point but in the last 20 minutes there was only 1 side going to score. Thought Proschwitz was outstanding for you, battled hard, great in the air & some decent skills, like a less gangly, uncomfortable & not as weird looking Peter Crouch if you like!!
Bossed by Keegan from the first challenge, spent large parts sat an his arse looking for a free kick, when he was upright & on the ball had a nice touch & turn & can spray a decent pass.
Really? Made a few comfortable saves, the majority of which were straight at him and one good save when one on one from a tight angle. A few seconds to go before half time he should have just punched it clear, I can't see how anyone can blame Cranie. He also dropped one in the second half as well. I must know absolutely nothing about football.
Made a mistake I'd put him and Cranie about 60/40 in the culpability stakes. I don't castigate any player for the odd mistake when they were on top his general play was excellent.
