I've watched Cranie's goal twenty times and still have no idea what that useless **** D'Urso saw. Killing the game tossers like him.
I've watched the goal that wasn't about 20 times now and can't see anything wrong with it, the Donny players didn't complain...the only infringement I could see was one of their defenders with his arms all over Proschwitz. When Proschwitz scored his second he celebrated by looking for the referee and presumably giving him some abuse, wonder what was said? **Yes I Googled 'Proschwitz' and copied and pasted the correct spelling
Well after seeing their first goal, I even more don't understand the 'Steele is ****, get rid' comments. Yeah, he made a mistake, but he did catch it originally and if Cranie wouldn't have been there I have no doubt that he would have scrambled and got it under control, or not dropped it in the first place. It's just one of those things.
Yeah I wonder what the German for that is. Saying that you can compliment someone in German and it still sounds like abuse!
Can't understand why the goal was disallowed. Nothing wrong there at all. Poor communication for their first goal and shocking marking for the second. All Steele's fault though according to the usual suspects. Well, suspect.
I appreciate that it sounds like Donny should have had a stonewall penalty but two wrongs don't make a right - its a disgraceful decision and he should be forced to explain it. If he can think of an explanation other than "i ****** up earlier and I'm evening it up" then he's a better actor than I think.
I'd like to see the penalty shout, because it does sound like it should have been given. Not included in the highlights, however. But, as you said, making two opposing bad decisions does not make you a good referee.
I'd put blame at all 3 of them. Steele for not being strong enough, Cranie for losing his man and then getting in the way of the keeper and Kennedy for leaving his man unmarked in the box to tap home.
The penalty was as clear as you'll ever see. They cleared the ball to the edge of the box where their player was stood waiting for it till Woods comes and takes him clean out without ever getting the ball which was picked up by one of our over players. D'Urso said he ruled ours out for a push which the highlights wouldn't prove either way as the camera pans a bit late to catch anything that happened
Surely something has got to change, referee's are professionals these days so I'm sure they've got the time to write public reports explaining contentious decisions. People would have much more respect for them if they did this, as opposed to what we have now where referees appear to decide on a whim if they don't like something which is completely admissible in the laws of the game. Whether the penalty claim Donny had was a foul or not, the referee was a yard away but looking in the opposite direction and only saw the players on the ground, not the challenge. I wish he had actually given it in these circumstances just because it would have highlighted one of many flaws there are in the attitude of so many referees these days. There are cameras at every game these days, it wouldn't be hard to give the fourth official access to the feed with the ability to rewind it and allow teams to challenge contentious decisions.
