Been flicking through the match reports but not seen too many mentions.

Thought he had a steady game in a not particular flashy role. Messed up an attacking opportunity that would have put us two up but so would a lot of our more established players. Needs some games to gain confidence in his own ability ratter than in and out all the tine. Promising ratter than the finished article still at this stage.

It wasn't Digbys best game. Seemed to be covering the right side of the pitch.

Put in a nice cross first time.

Could have done with a more experienced player on the ball when we had that breakaway, quicker thinking there and you'd have fancied us to score.

Ok cheers lads. Not surprised to hear he's a bit raw and mistakes are being made, I think we'll have to be patient with him. It's not often a good young player comes through the youth system in centre midfield at any club, never mind ours. It's a position that managers don't tend to trust with youngsters. Physically, he looks the business and in theory at least he should improve the more games he plays.

If there's one certainty from the Ipswich game I took its that we needed to strengthen in midfield. Despite hearing reports of players out of position, on paper at least I thought that midfield looked pretty strong and solid. It'll take time for those four to gel (perhaps time we don't have) but I'd be inclined to stick with it, with the possible addition of Mellis/McCourt in home games where we need to take more of a chance.

We are missing Mellis. In his absence we lack any creativity. I'm sure he will be back in as soon as available.

Didn't really mean not have Digby in the side, just meant for that breakaway he wasn't the ideal person to have on the ball. He had a few choices - pass left or right or shoot, and he didn't really choose any of them, I know he eventually passed the ball but he took so long that the moment had gone. I suppose it's one of those things that comes with experience and playing often.

summariser on player (some Scottish guy) said he looked like a centre back playing in central midfield, and he wasn't closing the Doncaster players down/getting near them. That was just before he got substituted.

Negative always looking to pass backwards or sideways and to the man nearest to him, went missing a lot, looked out of his depth. never seems to be doing the basics, so just the same as every time he plays, but thats just my thoughts on him, i must not be watching him right because everyone else thinks he'll make a good un i can't see it wile ever he as a hole in his arse.

If you think that wasn't his best game and I understand you see alot of the youngsters games

Then Digby will go on to be one of the best if not the best. He oused class yesterday and was a giants head and shoulders above the rest

Did OK first half, but he was struggling in the second and Donny were all over us. He wasn't closing the opposition down quickly enough. Wilson had sussed it and was trying to bring on Jim O'Brien to replace him. However, the ball didn't go out of play for 3 or 4 minutes, and we couldn't make the substitution. Unfortunately, Donny scored before we could make the change. When we did, the game altered completely and after being under the cosh for the first 10 minutes of the second half, it was all us.

He's got something, but he's lacking in a bit of confidence, not surprising for such a young lad with little experience coming in to a struggling side, and he needs to close the opposition down quicker.

He made a great run in the first half carrying the ball all the way from the edge of his own area to the edge of theirs. Unfortunately he didn't have the confidence to shoot and made the pass, which was the wrong option. I don't know how you gain confidence without trying something that will give you that confidence. Had he shot and had he scored I can't imagine there would have been any need to bring him off. He'd have been on a high and probably dominating the midfield. Next time he finds himself in that situation he's got to summon up the courage to have a go and then I can see him coming on in leaps and bounds.
