It's ok tyrone we all know that when it comes to football knowledge and judging a players ability you know absolutely **** all.
Yup, that's why he was subbed in the 55th minute. Of course, we're all allowed our own opinions, but that one is quite simply preposterous. He looked like a young player with potential that was doing quite well in the first half, but then struggled to get to grips with the game once the opposition had their tails up and were applying pressure. That's not writing him off, it's not saying he's ****, it's just that his inexperience began to tell. Wilson could see that and subbed him, changing the game for our benefit.
Personally. I thought.it was an absurd decision to take him off many others around me voiced the same opinion
If his job is to take the sting out of any attack we try to mount and absolutely destroy the tempo of our game with his negativeness then I agree he's the best in the business he dose everything 30 seconds after he should have
Can we all remember that hes never played that formation in a match to my memory. Hes a player that came through the ranks with a 4231 fomation. Played with Abbott another talented ball playing midfielder thats in the u21's. I can't understand why Danny played that formation with those players, to me it was bonkers. Then a member of the forum calls him sh*t, well to people who think that the only sh*t going around is what your typing. Play players in proper formations they understand.
Not a clue, Players with Talent like Digby are better away from this club if a good % believe that. He'll have a better 10 years than Barnsley would thats for certain.
Passing the ball forward and keeping it moving quickly can be done in any formation if you have ability he don't so he can't no matter where he plays he's just not good enough from what I've seen
Whilst I understand you clearly know better than the England manager he is an a England international therefore in a select group of players thought of as the beer in his age range in the country. He's a young lad learning the game and he played like that yesterday. No more no less.
I'm judging him on playing against men in the 2nd best league in the country not on a training ground against boys in glorified friendlys, He could benefit from going out to MK Dons for a few month, but playing in our team is going to do him no good what so ever
Having a formation with wingers would help. Not sure why Wilson felt the need to overload the midfield with 3 central midfield and them 3 players. Digby Frimpong, trust them, back them, support them. I'd back those 2 against the Doncaster 3 Give Doncaster problems to think about, two wingers. Personally get RNL and jennings out there and stretch that pitch. He's a player that likes to keep the ball but his range of passings really good. If he thought about passing to his left he had woods who wasn't too far away or Kennedy or COG. Neither will cause the other team problems with ball at feet one on one with their full back. Get COG up front, give him the long option, spread the pitch. give him options. This is a guy thats been picked by England u19's. Digby didn't play well but Wilson's got to take the flack.
Like I say I bow to your expertise... Digby is a better midfielder now than Dawson or Etuhu will ever be. He is a young lad learning the game and the he's ***** attitude reflects poorly on you.
His passing range should be used much better then he dose though once he's made his space to receive the ball and that couple of seconds before it's passed to him is the time to be looking where he's putting it once he gets it that's how you stretch teams not getting it stopping it then having a look it might work against young lads but at this level your closed down very quickly and he as to go sideways or backwards more often then forwards
Like the boring bloke that I am, I watched the whole game on Player a couple of hour ago. Just so I could give an opinion. But my opinion remains the same, both Digby and Frimpong need a run of games. They're mere novices at professional level, and so to expect them to smash it every game is foolish. Neither Stones or Butterfield did that either. They benefited from a prolonged run in the team. They benefited from a manager (Keith) who trusted them, allowed them to make mistakes. From my limited viewing of Digby, I think he's potentially very good. But as I say, I'm guessing really. He's played what, 5 times or summat? Over three seasons. He needs backing asap, before he too ends up like Noble-Lazarus where 5 years down the line we're no closer to knowing what kind of player we've got. And that's not criticism of him, or Reuben. More a dig at the club and managers who've gone down the short term route every year once results turn. Anyone suggesting he's brilliant, or vice versa, are easy to ignore. You've nowt to judge him on. And that goes for those who think he's amazing in the under age matches. So was Nathan Jarman.
The only way the lad will improve is to be given games. I think we should play him as often as possible. He did ok for me, just lacks that cutting edge which will come.
He needs to be playing at a team at the top end of the league with a little less pressure on him even if it means him dropping down a league or two, or at the very start of the season instead of the business end
