Their Wombwell shop was done over a few months ago and now this. Are there any trades-folk out there who could help with repairs, cheap or free? A couple of nice fellas have offered to do the plumbing and plastering for free. They do fantastic work for local animals and this is another dose of crap luck the charity didn't need or deserve.

Here is the damaged caused this morning at our King Street shop in Hoyland. The driver ran off leaving us to assume he has no insurance. The matter is with South Yourkshire Police. We will be looking at around £1900 for the window, £1500 for the shutter, plus new carpets, plumbing, electrical and not to mention the skip full of destroyed stock. As a self funding charity (no lottery, no sponsors and tele programs) we rely on our shops to raise money to pay for all the work we do at the kennels, rabbit sanctuary and the willd bird home. This is a major dent in our fund raising but to continue we will have to repair the shop and start again.

So if you have a spare thousand just lying around or some items you just want rid of give us a ring or leave a message on here and we will get back to you.

    Thank you
Ps, I know how many of you may react but please dont put suspect names on the site, the police already have his name and they are dealing with it.

Or just decent donations to replenish their stock. Probably better to drop it at Wombwell or Hoyland Common shops. Also, old duvets, towels and linen always needed for bedding for the animals.

It's a nice thought, but I don't think the club would allow it, otherwise everyone would be rattling. Something practical like a glazier who would fix the windows for cost I'm sure would be massively appreciated. This update has been posted.

Hi everyone, an update on yesterdays events. The guy driving the car has handed himself into the police.
We have been in this morning and cleared the rubble, and made the shop look like a shopish..... again and we can now see exactly what needs doing.
After I put the post on last night I was stunned by the offers of help we recieved from our friends, I would like to thank Steve Doran (plumber) and Stewart Dobing (electrician) who both offered there services within five mins of the post going up, we also got an offer from a plasterer but I cant find his post, so thank you. Thankfully we dont need there services, but we cant thank you enough.
As I write this the post has been seen by 5882, been shared 94 times and has generated a huge amount of interest. I cant individually thank everyone but I can say a massive thank you to you all for your support and offers of help and donations. Its a real sign of how a community comes together.
Jayne will be opening the shop tomorrow, although in some dissary she wants to keep contact with the regualrs who pop in, so if your passing please pop in and say hi... it will make her day.
    ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU EVERYONE.
