I hadn't realised at the time that Paddy's bit of magic was a part of it, but it was. Couple of points:

Paddy absolutely bamboozled several Donny players, as he has done to others before of course. They had NO idea how to stop him. This begs the obvious question that hardly needs asking. Why is he not playing at least SOME part of the game EVERY week?

When he ran across the edge of the box, why didn't he drop shoulder once more and cut inside and have a go himself? He pointlessly gave a short square ball to JOB who could do nothing but put it back where Paddy had just come from, to Jack Hunt. But then....more magic.

Hunt did something that Barnsley players hardly ever do. He made a good, attacking throw in. He found COG, in the box, when he had no right to find COG, not really. And then.....yet more magic.

COG did what he does best with a superb turn and with FOUR (count them), FOUR Donny players round him he threaded a perfect ball to NP. Our top class centre forward then swept in a lovely shot, sending their keeper the wrong way.

As I said, the more you watch it, the better it gets. Go on, watch it again and rewind it several times. Just brilliant stuff all round.

I really don't understand why McCourt isn't starting every game. He'll either baffle the opposition or have a bit of a stinker. If he's having a stinker he can be replaced at half-time if not before. If he's on form, he's a proven match winner and the best midfielder at the club. Don't see the point in keeping him on the bench for the last 10 minutes.

Agreed. When I saw that there were ten minutes left on Saturday I wondered what the point was. The fact that he played such a significant part in our equaliser is by the by. Had he come on at, say, 55 minutes when we went down 2-1, he could have won the match for us.

Like a lot of people have already said, Danny Wilson coming back is a good thing. But his team selections just baffle me at times, just like his predecessors. Surely he can see what a talent McCourt is - a unique talent that either comes off, or not. Just give him a chance, then haul him off if not working. Nobody will blame him if we get relegated but plenty will grumble if we go down without at least going for it.

For me, playing Paddy is going for it.
