Yes I agree, driving is probably the best way. Not sure if you'd get there in time on-foot.

 

M1, M60, M61........should be 1.5 hours run.

There is a checkpoint-charlie at Chorley, who will for sure, identify any smoke bombs or cannisters that you have in the car. Maybe you should create a secret stash in the windscreen washer bottle under the bonnet?

 

All depends mate. If you want to get fit I'd suggest a bicycle, if you want to just get there I'd probably go in the car.

You should have gone A628 Woodhead Pass, M67 then M60 which would have allowed the checkpoint charlie to challenge you at Cheadle.
