Summed up in one game. And that's with Germany's best player in an Arsenal shirt. It's embarrassing. Come on Arse!!
What I see in a lot of European games is how comfortable the other clubs look in keeping possession of the ball against 'English' clubs
Well the majority of the teams are made up of foreign players - yet even when we play international games England cant get possession for long periods
Plus Arsenal ave only got ten men. The FIFA rules have stopped this and other games being a contest imo . No way can Arsenal be judged on this showing with 10 v 11
Absolutely spot on marlon. Once down to 10 men they were always gonna struggle to cause Bayern too many problems. Stupid rule to send players off. Penalty should be punishment enough.
Yep cheats the fans out of a spectacle especially the neutrals imo a sin bin should be considered or a forced substitution of the guilty player
Nothing wrong with the law before. Worked ok for years. Why did they have to change it? It has not been for the better.
Agreed. But the game as been ruined as a spectacle imo and if this keeps happening I fear the neutral spectator will lose patience.
Marlons correct and the opening posts 100% BS. Remember at 11 vs 11 it was the Bayern Goalkeeper tested the most. 2/3 saves to 0 early and they hardly tested the Goalkeeper until there first goal which was very good.
Good, hope every tv game is ruined for the new breed of armchair fan! They should be stood on the terraces watching their own team not creaming their pants over a match involving 20 foreigners!
That doesn't get away from Bayern's total dominance. There is a reason Arsenal were reduce to 10 men. That was Robben getting behind every single defender and forcing the goalie into a rash challenge.
Are you saying Arsenal were the better team Hemsie? You are agreeing with the theory of the sending off ruining the game, when you were calling for a red card for the foul on Ozil? Contadicting yourself their old ****.
When they first brought the straight red card rule in it was just for fouls outside the box, as they deemed that giving the opposition a penalty meant they were not denying the goalscoring opportunity. I wish they'd bring that rule back in, because just about every time a goalkeeper slightly mistimes a challenge he's going to get sent off. Then you get the quadruple whammy, like we had at Newcastle a few years ago (0-0 on 44 minutes, Steele sent off, final score 6-1) - you concede the penalty, have to play the rest of the game with your reserve keeper, have to play the rest of the game with 10 men and your first choice keeper is suspended for the next game. Particularly difficult to take when the keeper didn't actually touch the player, like at Newcastle!
I'm sure they could have come up with something more positive than the current law which is killing the game more tan the incident highlighted imo
And not just on the field Didn't Bayern subsidise the cost of their fans to go to the game, so they could avoid being totally ripped off by Arsenal? Arsenal wanted £63 per ticket but Bayern sold the tickets for £38 and paid the difference themselves at a cost of £75,000. The Germans have got it right off the field as well as on it.
Re: And not just on the field Let's not feel too much for Bayern, they've just signed a 110M 4 year stadium deal. I'm sure all the clubs do things for those that travel too.
