Won best band and album at Brits. Alex Turner sounded smacked off his t1ts during both acceptance speeches... But what a ******* boy! Broken a record too, 1st band to win best album and best band 3 times. The most consistent band out there IMO.
All the folk moaning cos they slagged them off - about time we had a band he was 'real' and said what they wanted instead of all this corporate crap!
The odd half decent song, and a front man who has lost his own identity by trying to replicate artists of years gone by, instead of coming up with his own "image" quite sad really.
All music artists copy styles from years gone by - it always happens. They make their own music and put it out there playing live to stadiums, suppose you prefer the voice and x factor garbage
to be fair jim...sorry, dennis...probably won't be too long before alex turner is a judge on one o them pi$$ poor programmes
I'll tell you what I have seen though, Alex Turner thinking he's the new Elvis. Laughable. As I said though, they've had a few decent songs, I'm not completely writing them off like others are.
I very much doubt that Thomas, sorry Tom. Im not a big fan of them but I like how they win an award and refuse to be all corporate like the rest of the pansies in music these days
Some of the best lyrics in the last 20 years witty insightful who cares about the image that's just to flog records.
Big fan, the 3rd & 4th albums weren't up to the standards of the first two but the new one is brilliant, back to their best. Glad they're getting plenty of recognition. Do I wanna know & Snap out of it were probably my 2 favourite songs of last year
ha ha. yeah, winning a brit award, going up drunk and saying rock n roll will never die...no one's ever done that before at the brits. very anti establishment. he'll be on the front of the nme next week, sticking his middle finger up
Have to agree not a huge fan but there latest album am is fantastic at least they write there own stuff unlike X factor stuff which is manufactured ***** sooner they take it off the better.
Great debut album, really exciting band they were back then. No idea what happened afterwards, but they do nothing for me anymore. In fact, I find this Alex lad a bit of a wally. He tries too hard. *****? Suppose that's down to personal taste. I'd listen to them over a lot of other stuff, but five albums already, in what, 7 years? I think they ought to take a break, get off the smack and see how they feel in a few years time. I'm no snob when it comes to music. I love all sorts. And as folk know, my favourite band are blink-182. So it's each to their own I suppose. But I think blink have only released 6 albums, and they've been together (4 year break aside) for 22 years. Less is more, in my opinion. If you've nowt good to say etc... Funny though, Arctic Monkeys are headlining Reading/Leeds... alongside blink-182.
