Met this on the way back to the Falkland Islands after being in South Georgia. The photo does not really show how big this thing was, we were about 2 miles away from it.
Bloody hell, that's some view. Minus points though for a Barnsley lass not knowing what a kestrel looks like.
Two of the best places I've visited GREAT OCEAN ROAD, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA KOH PHI PHI, THAILAND
Something I took last autumn, this is not meant to be seen, it's only seen when the beautiful flower it sits behind has died and shrivelled....and yet, it is even more beautiful, it is a natural embodiment of the Fibonacci number series (0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13.....add the previous 2 numbers together) which is seen all over in the world. Sunflower seeds
The Great Ocean Road is absolutely beautiful. Only problem is trying to do a David Bailey to try and capture it all on film. It is a long run and you cannot capture it all
Lovely birds Kestrels but I hate Sparrow Hawks. The latter decimate our bird tables and the birds suffer a horrible death. If the Sparrow hawk is kind? It severs their jugular vein, if it is not it strips out the birds back and breast whilst they are alive until they die of shock or blood loss. Horrible sight and the they are one bird in England I would not blink an eye if it became extinct. This may sound extreme but I have had a lot to do with them and their prey
Well I do feel a bit stupid now, particularly as we helped the RSPCA out when we were kids by nurturing one back to health, but I don't remember them being so colourful. Needless to say I will hang my head in shame for the rest of the day.
