Btw, it says a lot when we've been here for 8 years and folk are picking Frimpong after one good game in four.
Mannone; Wiseman, Shackell, McNulty, McEveley; Togwell, Arismendi, Smith, Cotterill, Higginbotham; Odejayi.
Why not. It doesn't take twenty games to see hes a very talent player at this level. We've had some decent players in there (Anderson, Mellis, Perkins to name three) but I think he's a the best.
A very transparent excuse for some extra Frimpong loving!! Better Warn you Phil, he hates racists. Fimpong is still in the worst team since promotion. It will take some sterling performances to wipe out the minus points he earned against Wednesday. So it all depends on if you are simply picking the best player in each position or to win a match. To win a match I would go.... Muller Trippier-Stones-Shackell-Dickinson Howard-Hassell-Butterfield-Hammill Vaz Te-O'Grady Steele Foster McCourt Cranie Dinkwater JCR Anderson Davies
Using your logic, Mido and Garry O'Connor would start up front, Butland in goal and McShane at centre half.
1 - Steele 2 - Stones 3 - Dickinson 4 - Drinkwater 5 - Shotton 6 - Cranie 7 - Hammill 8 - Butterfield 9 - Vaz 10 - COG 11 - Howard 4-3-3. With Vaz and Hammill supporting COG through the middle. Drinkwater deep with Howard and Butterfield providing the ammunition. Promoted via the playoffs (obviously) job done. Darren Moore?!? Great dressing room presence and leader granted but by the time he was here his legs had gone and was an accident waiting to happen every match. Room on the none playing staff.
Muller Stones Cranie Moore Trippier Drinkwater Butterfield Howard Hammill COG Vaz Te Hassell as first sub.
Frimpong and Golbourne wouldn't even be on the bench for me. Frimpong has had one reasonable game that was no better than anything we saw from an Ethuhu on his day, or a Perkins on his day. But you've decided that you like him so now we're going to endure month after month of you proving your point. Can't wait. BTW I hope you're right. I'm just pointing out that you have absolutely no evidence to back this up yet.
Might have been a bit harsh there. But look at it objectively - He was very, very foolish in his first game for us. The second he was average. Against Millwall he was good. That's all he's played for us. 1 good game. After 3 games you can't put someone in a 'best 11'. I am with you though, I think he will be a good player. Just not one of our best players in the 7 years we've been at this level.
I was looking at the way he controlled the ball on Saturday and how he spots situations along with discipline in terms of positional sense.
Don't get me wrong, he has potential to be a good player. After all he wouldn't have been at arsenal if they didn't think he had something. But now he's at Barnsley for a reason. Could turn out to be really good. Still can't judge him on 3 games though.
