Over a decade ago, actually. And even then I wouldn't have ever classed myself as a druggie. I occasionally popped pills of a weekend when out on the piss. I worked all week, I was at college prior to that. I never caused anyone any harm, quite the opposite in fact.

I would class a druggie as someone who takes a street drug (not prescribed by a doctor) every day, habitually. Possibly because they 'need' to. And to meet that end, they beg, steal or borrow to feed the habit they've created.
I have some sympathy for folk who get into that predicament. A few lads I grew up with went down that route and never reached their 30's. I had a bit of a drink problem for a good 6 months some 8 years ago. I lost someone close to me, then my job, and finally my girlfriend of the time. So I turned to drinking. Every day. I was depressed.
Luckily, I had support from good people around me who I eventually listened to and it's a small period of my life I look back upon and see as a learning experience.

So I sympathise with people in similar situations.

But racism? I don't get it. I really don't.

 

Let's send everybody with a name like Paddy back to Ireland 'cos some of their lot used to be terrorists n blow things up

I have stayed out of this thread so far, but you, nightmare, are everything that's wrong with this country, and more specifically this town. It makes me do sick to see such bigoted people living in this town, and you're the worst I've seen.

As far as this thread goes, the fact that you think that this country allows terrorists in, knowing that they're terrorists is quite hilarious actually. The fact that people like you get a vote on the future of this country in the elections fills me with dread...

I wouldn't be so proud of being a bigot. Our grandfathers fought a war for freedom of belief and so that people would not be judged on their religion. People like you spit on the memories of the fallen. You hate your country this beautiful multi racial country where people have the right to their views whether they agree with The majority or not whether. Violence is abhorrent whether it is physical violence or racist bile.

 

Ive never read the daily mail - my only problem with this country is that we see muslims preaching hate on our streets which goes unpunished yet if I walked round the streets with placards preaching hate against the muslim communities then I would be arrested for inciting racial hatred - every man and his dog knows that is true. Wheres the democracy in that?

I don't often see Muslims preaching hate in the streets of Barnsley.

The only people I have seen spouting racism on the streets recently is the sewer rats of the EDL. Would you like to criticise them? Or does that not fit your narrow views. People like you have no patriotism you criticise our beautiful tolerant country. You should visit countries without freedom of speech or assembly then you would cherish being British rather than denigrating it.

 

Im not a fan of the EDL. But how do you feel when see you poppies being burnt on the streets of England and soldiers being abused on their welcome home marches? Then seeing those acts go unpunished? Yet if there is a retaliation demo the police treat the demonstrators like dirt. Unite against Fascism have more people arrested at the EDL demos yet those goes unpublished.
