theres a lot of us not normal mate,i've suffered with insomnia from being about 22 years old,and now cannot get to sleep without some type of medication.even with the zopiclone I'm on I only get 2 or 3 hours. my doctor sent me to the sleep clinic at ponty hospital, when I saw the specialist he said that I probably had sleep apnea,i told him not a chance because I don't sleep, anyway they sent me home connected to some monitoring equipment and when I went back the day after the specialist told me I didn't have sleep apnea and recommended CBT. over the years I've tried hypnotherapy, reiki, accupuncture, chinese herbals, herbal teas, horlicks, lavender oil,the lot and **** all works only sleeping tablets, not being able to sleep is like torture.
you've a lot to look forward to. just one word of advice tho jamdrop,if you can, keep away from the sleeping tabs.
i have the same problem. it ain't funny. I do weird hours with the DJing & often only sleep 2 hours one night, but luckily I can get an hour in the afternoon quite often. Nothing makes much difference. I never have trouble getting to sleep, but usually wake up after an hour or so. I use audiobooks, which at least stop you thinking about trying to get to sleep. You can lie there listening to something relaxing & sometimes you nod off fairly quickly. Currently working through Dominic Sandbrook's "Seasons In The Sun".
Re: lay reyt on the edge of the bed Always found that a good shag releases the endorphins and makes you want to go to sleep afterwards. Works for me.
He did, you're right. That's what he named the book after, as its an iconic 70's tune. It's a social history book about the 70's, mainly economics, politics, music. I rate the bloke. http://www.dominicsandbrook.com/books/seasons-in-the-sun/
