In his Chron interview. Great that Bobby passes on his wealth of knowledge and experience to the younger lads, as he did with Stones, Butterfield and Digby. Even if he never plays again, Bobby, he needs retaining in a coaching capacity. Be sad to see him leave for some lower league club and end up coaching somewhere else like Watson, Hignett, Liddell, Eaden, Barnard, Redfearn and Taggart have done. We need people with a proper Tarn affinity at the club. All the above is my opinion.
If he feels fit enough i wouldnt be surprised to see him play on in the lower leagues (maybe even us if we go down) for a season or two before turning to coaching assuming thats what he wants to do. Think he would be a great coach for our academy, maybe higher
I've a feeling he and Lawrence will go back there in some capacity. Be a shame, the day he finally leaves Oakwell. Just wish we'd not been robbed of seeing him for much of the last three seasons.
They had a striker my age, called Andy White, a few years ago now. He even scored for them against us, in front of the Ponty End. "goal for Mansfield, scored by Andy White" Closest I'll ever get to realising the dream.
The very worst part of our previous 2 managers IMO. Fatal, as he is a good player. Can't wait for his book, although would he do that?
I'm hoping he sticks to his beliefs, and remains honest. And if certain folk get caught in the crossfire, they have only themselves to blame. Wish he'd let me write it for him, but no doubt Matt Murray's already secured that privilege. The [insert nasty word].
I think that game was my birthday present to myself. Finished 1-0 if my memory serves me correctly. Happy birthday, me.
said hes spoken to him , that bit you you talking about Whitey. I hope he speaks to all the players. Hope he spoke to the likes of Cranie too and Luke Steele. There more likely to know what hes going through. West Yorkie too, can't be a bad person
He probably does speak to all the senior players, but he chose to specifically mention Bobby, obvious to me.
