    You want him in the team now, when he can't stay fit for two weeks?

    Madness. We have umpteen players, fit who can play, but you want an unfit one, because you've watched him in the reserves?
    Tom Cwyka, Paddy McCourt, Liam Lawrence, Martin Woods.

    Don't get me wrong, I like RNL. If he could stay fit for 5 minutes he might have a career.

    Yes, but there are players who have been fit all season, who he is behind in the pecking order. Don't you see that?
    You're a manager. do you pick the players who are always fit, and chip in with goals, or the young, talented kid, who is sometimes fit?

    I would pick Reuben.
    Good in defence. Good on the ball in a team way.
    Dangers around the box, good at putting crosses in.

    I would like to see Digby, RNL and Rose in the match day squad. It's time to see if they've got it or not. I wouldn't start any of them but think it is the long term interests of the club to push them on now I'm fed up of short termism.

    The problem with that is that Digby & Frimpong didn't look a comfortable partnership at all. Both wanted to play the same role & sit deep protecting the back 4.

    Ideally you want one sitting & one doing a lot of the graft which is what worked so well for us with Dawson & Frimpong in the 2nd half last week

    If you meant at Doncaster then I would look at THAT formation. 433 with 3 players doing the same thingish and one winger on the pitch. The manager sold the team short it that game.

    I would pick those players and stretch the pitch which would allow the central players to have a little bit more space on the ball. They ball can ping it around nice, all could get the ball with players around them and back each other to give them a option they can pass to. Also they are all at a talent level that they will spot things the less talented players would. Dawsons a good player for us but he'll not see that Frimpong could be given the ball even with players around him.

    Your Woods Hassell Dawsons Perkins, They have played at league 1/2 level for a large part of their careers and will have league one thoughts. Not having ago at the 4 in any way but thats how I see things.

    I haven't checked the figures, just what i've spotted.
    Not having ago at any of them but if we are to build on then it's something we need to get away from.

    Hassell of the four can see a pass from deep but I'm not sure about instantly with players around him.

    You're right of course. Digby played OK first half, although he made a mess of the break away, but that was just lack of experience.

    Second half Donny came at us like a train. I can't imagine Digby will have experienced anything like it before. In junior football his sheer size will have meant he could always cope with it. In senior football, players much smaller than him are actually stronger and they were just brushing him aside. Wilson saw it within 5 minutes of the restart, but unfortunately the ball didn't go out of play and he wasn't able to bring on O'Brien before the goal was conceded. Once the substitution was made the game changed again and we bossed the rest of the match.

    None of that means that Digby is a poor player, just that he isn't experienced enough for the dog fight we are in. Wilson sees him as a good prospect, that's why he said he will be involved, but after trying him our manager realises that he isn't quite ready yet, hence the latest interview. It's not a slight on Digby, it's our manager doing what he is paid to do, picking the right players for the job and looking after both the short and long term fortunes of the club and the squad of players. Having said all that, I still expect to see him on the bench in upcoming matches and to be brought on should the situation warrant it.
