Huddersfield are a powerful, balanced side with a bright manager. Didn't expect a lot today but we've got to take it on the chin and move on. These results happen a lot to teams who are struggling. Got to stop with the defeatist attitude and take a long hard look at ourselves as a club and as a team. We can blame Hill all we like, I know the moron set the foundations. Thing is, that isn't going to fix things. We need leadership now. For us to stay up would be a great, everyone knows that. But, if we do get relegated, what a chance to build again from the bottom. I still believe we have a great manager, bright young Chief Executive, loyal to the hilt Owner and chairman whose experience in football is second to none. What we need is leadership. And it's time for our leaders to step up and build this broken club and make it Barnsley Football Club again. Rant over. You Reds!
I'm right behind you mate. And the above is not a rant, it's clear thinking in the face of adversity. Thank you for it because reading this board was destroying my soul. I'm glad there are others out there who haven't given up and still believe in our club. We're not down the bottom of the league because we're any good. We're down there because we're rubbish. Rubbish teams get hammered now and again. We've just got to be a little bit less rubbish than 3 other clubs. And then rebuild in the summer.
Chairman? All hes done up to now AFAIK is a failed rebranding campaign and dropped a name for Jennings. Wilsons lost his bottle and is trying to nick a win Bens inexpereinced and probably trying to tackle too many things at once and it looks like half the playing squad have thrown the towel in As soon as Hudds scored their heads dropped. That is not the sign of a healthy dressing room!
well said Athersley, it's a bad bad bad result and it hurts but Doncaster have lost Yeovil are only a point better off and 3 players down. Milwall lost. Charlton lost Blackpool are sinking fast. we're still bang in it and only 2 points away. Nowhere near over yet.
we dont pick the team we cant make them up their game we have very little say or control over what gets put out on that pitch When people are paying their hard earned to go watch them and they just roll over like today then they deserve the criticism. And no ive not been but my phones been red hot with mates that were there including hudds fans saying how awful we were and hudds didnt even play that well.
It's easy to be positive. It's called faith and trust. This is Barnsley. We are quite possibly the best run club in the Championship. Our management is stable and they trust each other. Can we sing the same praises about the players? Arguable. But trust me when I say that Danny can build a side, given time. And time is something Patrick Cryne believes in, as shown with Hill and Davey. He does give a manager time to build. Now we've got an actual, competant manager, that is a reason to be positive.
ive wanted danny back for seasons but the teams he is putting out dont have the characteristics of a DW side. Hes playing with fear. If he we don thave the right players then hes not failed in the transfer window imho.
I'm sorry, Huddersfield were gash, there for the taking and we should have been 2 up before 25 minutes. After they scored what is an all too familiar goal against us we just gave up, pathetic.
Have to be philosophical despite the hurt. My mate from Hudds just texted to say both sides will never find it easy as we don't have the money to compete so this is how it will always be; it hurts today but will be up for it again next week. I do find it hard as today was a waste of money, time and energy, but a football club is for life, not just for the good times.
Re: Have to be philosophical despite the hurt. Best thing we could do IMO is play the attacking forward thinking football that is more natural to Danny and start including our younger players. It was one game we lost to a better team. The manner of the collapse was a little worrying. In Danny we trust our team we support.
Re: Have to be philosophical despite the hurt. He supports Huddersfield town? We are in totally different leagues financially.
