Some posts on here including people asking for Wilson out? Seems a little premature, yes we haven't picked up so much since he joined, and yes some decisions according to you guys at the games seem crazy, but shouldnt we give him a full pre season, let him build a team he wants, and then judge him on that? We can't keep hiring and firing, going down isn't ideal, but would you rather have a manager in short term for another honeymoon period, get out of the mire, only for us all to be lulled into a false sense of optimism for next season and again be ultimately disapointed, or stick with Danny, let him build his own team and have a bit of stability around the club for once, even if that means L1 next season?

We have to stick with Danny regardless of which league we are in next season.

But how long will the fans give him if we have a poor start? Cos our managers are getting less and less time to do owt.

Stick with Danny I say and make that plain before the season ends.

Last thing I want is for managerial uncertainty going in to a new season before I renew my season ticket.

Totally agree with you MK and the OP

I cannot wait for the season to end... get a total and thorough clean out, and begin again . Yes I am already accepting league 1 too, I hope I am wrong. But keeping Wilson for me is very important. We have some good quality coming from within and there are one or two we presently have worth keeping. Also I do not believe we would bounce back immediately, I think its gonna be 3 seasons maybe more in the next tier down.... but we will get back again .

He likes Danny and is putting a completely different side to the argument nowadays.

    Danny has to stay 100%

Imagine a line up today with Wiseman, Perkins, McNulty etc..

It is far from over, i know the overall table doesnt lie, but we are far from the worst team in the league on current form. The likes of Blackpool, Millwall and Birmingham could end up in real trouble. We must pick up a few wins in the next five games or so. I am still optimistic and think we can do it,

    agreed

its not just managerial worry.... its what the players think too. I mean players coming in. IF they see the club trying to get some sort of solidarity then that may , just may, have a slight bearing too. It could also have the same effect on present players.

    Re: agreed

i'm not one for knee jerk reactions, but after the first 13 games, i can't imagine any other manager would still be getting the level of support danny wilson is. it's good to see, but i feel it's past glories that are keeping the fans wrath at bay. taking the wilson factor out of it, he has made lots of mistakes since he took over. lots. and the stats are far from impressive.

    Re: agreed

It's not past glories keeping the wrath at bay here. It's the fact that when we were bottom of the table when Danny was appointed. He didn't know our players and had only a few weeks of the transfer window to assess them, bring in who he could given our limited resources and try and shape them in to a team that could avoid relegation.

The real shame here is that we clung on to Flitcroft too long when it was obvious that the siege mentality he created last season would not be replicated and he didn't have the ability to take us to the next level in the shape of mid-table obscurity rather than a relegation dogfight. Had we appointed Danny in November he could hardly have done a worse job than Flitcroft before the transfer window opened but would have had more of an idea who needed to get rid of and who he would replace them with.

Part of the problem with Flitcroft was we offered him a job to the end of the season, much as we've done with Danny, and then there was a delay before he took up our offer in the close season and we're offering renewals to the likes of McNulty because no planning was being done while the managerial position was in limbo.
