It was what happened after that incident with Dawson that I thought would be all over this board.

Shea and what looked like a middle finger at the fans

Dawson's behaviour was not acceptable from a professional footballer. Credit to Peter Ramage & Jack Hunt - both came right up to the away stand to clap the fans and did not react to the abuse. I honestly think Dawson would have been in the stand wanting a fight the way he behaved had others not calmed him down.

According to Twitter his family and death threats were mentioned. Wrong reaction but understandable. Some fans are morons.

does anyone know what was actually said though? to be fair, i don't care if he's paid a million pounds a day, there's still a limit to what you should expect a man to just accept from a fan. i don't know what's been said, i'm just saying others on here don't either.

Getting stick is one thing but getting personal abuse is another. I don't know what was said but if it was personal then I can understand why he would react - most people would. I'm not saying he was right but it is understandable.

It's just Dawson's character. He's fiery and hates losing as much as anyone. But he's also probably the friendliest and most approachable player at the club, who has most time for the fans. The two sides go hand in hand with some people. It's not ideal, but if 'supporters' think they can shout abuse at someone without recrimination, they can think again. And don't anybody give me that 'I've paid for my ticket ****'. If people want to shout abuse, be prepared to say it to someone's face.

Just seen this reply from one fan of many years standing, so I tend to believe him rather some knobheads on Twitter. When asked about Dawson trying to fight the fans
" Not totally true that. He was coming over to clap fans at end and got absolute dogs abuse from some down at front. He stopped, and asked what they were saying. got a gobful of abuse and started going towards them. He was a bit upset and angry - he'd only been on 20 mins and didn't deserve that. Ramage and Shea trotted over to drag him back . The two or three fans kept giving it and Shea stuck the middle finger up at them as they pulled Dawson away. They were 15 yards from the crowd. We stayed to the end and watched it all. The abuse was for the absolute lack of guts , and nobody came to acknowledge fans.....except poor Dawson , who got abuse he didn't deserve, and Jack Hunt."

At least him, Lawrence & Ramage had the decency to come over & front up to the fans. Where were all the others? Trying to find their spine? I'd much rather see a player come over & applaud us even if he reacts rather than one that sneaks off down the tunnel without a thought for all of us that's spent the best part of 50 quid on the game.

The 11 that started deserved all the abuse, it was unfortunate that Dawson got some as he wasn't one of the spineless players who deserved it.

I imagine Dawson's as pissed off as the rest of us, wondering why a lazy ******* like Frimpong has nicked his place.

I think he's become my new favourite player.

I'm just hoping the altercation Dawson and Shea had with the fans has the same effect on them as Chopra's had on him.

"Ah but Chopra was good and Shea is w@nk" Not before the bust up he wasn't.
