Obviously I was not there to witness what appears to be a total capitulation but 5-0 is nothing short of embarrassing and unacceptable. Now bottom but still not out of it but have our players got the necessary bottle to put in a string of positive results? I for one don't blame DW but I've got to question the attitude and desire to win of the players available to him. Or is DW to blame? TBH had DW been appointed earlier and he'd had longer to assemble a team would things be any different? Looks now it will require a minor miracle to get out of this one.
He's been a relative success. The issue is the complete disaster that was Flitcroft. Who should have gone much earlier.
sorry, but i'm not having this 'flicker to blame' argument any more. he's gone, and we're now 14 games in under danny wilson. he's brought his own players in, and the rest are the ones who kept us up last season.
Right - that's Danny to go. We appoint Mellon until the end of the season and then we can start again. If we haven't won every pre-season friendly the new man will obviously be a failure so we should appoint to a new gaffer in time for the new season starting and give them to the international break otherwise they're out too.
Kept us up. Just. Thanks to a last minute goal at Palace. If you think 14 games are enough then start the campaign. My opinion is that Flitcroft knew what Wiseman thought and yet kept picking him. He knew Perkins was no good yet picked him. He wasted the summer and he wasted the money.
i think that's an overreaction, personally. i see no sense in doing any of that, but that's just my opinion.
To assemble a new team in January is incredibly difficult. Can't really expect them to gel so quickly, but you can expect some fight, sadly missing today...
what campaign? and the palace comment is absolute nonsense. what flicker achieved last season was nothing short of miraculous. i thought he lost his way this season and had to go, but there isn't a man alive that can deny what he achieved as manager in 2013.
It was meant to be an over reaction. Tongue firmly in cheek when I was typing but any external appointment in December without serious funds in the transfer window is asking for a lot for any manager.
you seem to have made some quantum leap, from me saying danny wilson has to take some responsibility for our results, to me wanting to launch a 'wilson out' campaign. your words, not mine.
Personally I thought Flitcroft had lost his way before the end of last season. Had Hull done the business in our last home game of the season we were down. Too many players running on empty tanks before that game as was evident when we got thumped by Charlton at Oakwell.
