    According to Radio Leeds he had to be held back because he was after goin into Barnsley fans to sort one , a couple or all the Barnsley fans art. Not sure which.

    You may be right. However those offering alleged death threats and abuse towards his family should be banned from football grounds and possibly face legal action. Runs both ways, why should they get away with their actions and provocation if he can't be excused his response?

    Do people still believe that? Ticket sales and match day revenue no longer equate to covering player salaries at most clubs, I doubt we're much different.

    That doesn't give fans the right to give personal abuse and become offended and sensitive if there is a reaction. If you give it out you have to be prepared to take some back IMO. I'd have given the players abuse today had I been there and I would have accepted Dawson's reaction.

    I would say that attempting to hit someone at work could be gross misconduct. I was nearby not to abuse anyone I just never leave early. I heard a lot of not fit to wear the shirt and you're **** and we know you are but no personal abuse. I'm not saying there wasn't any but it must have been quite low key if there was any.

    tbf mario, i do reckon it depends on what has been said. if it was harsh, personal abuse, then i wouldn't blame him for reacting. if it was the usual 'not fit to wear the shirt' stuff that jimmy's suggesting, then i can't defend the players for confronting fans. obviously i wasn't there and can't say what was/wasn't said...but in theory, if that's all it was, they need to man up and take it on the chin
