We have had some quality players shakell, vaz te, hammil, stones, butterfield, davis at one point under hill we wo mid table which was flying for us untill the jan transfer window when our best players went for peanuts as usuall. When hill went last season cog came in and the whole squad seemed to up there game for fliker even tho there was a bit of luck in us stayin up imo. Unfortunately it just isnt happening under wilson even tho pat has supported him with the money. My point is sell your best players seaon after season and eventually ull end up with **** and atbottom, every season we have been hovering over the bottom 3 scince we sold vaz te just hope in league one we steady the ship bring the youth in mixed with some older ones and push one fingers crossed.
Butterfield was from the academy but yes hill inherited those players and at one point was doing well with em till they all went for next to nowt
We used to aim for playoffs, then mid table security (usually 13th). Now a successful season is 4th from bottom.
Can remember taking my nephew to the Open Day in 2011. I asked Craig Davies if he was going to score the winner against Forest on the opening day. Hill heard me and piped up 'nah he's not good enough!' Thought it was a strange thing to say about your own player even if it was a joke.
