    I remember Emlyn Hughes on football heaven once on about sol Campbell,hughes said he counldnt pass water never mind a ball.Maybe this is why he was never captain.

    If Campbell's looking for a reason why Beckham was captain & he wasn't he's sadly mistaken if he thinks it was a race issue. It was clearly down to marketability. Everyone knew Beckham wasn't a leader but he was obviously captain due to his ability to sell shirts & merchandise.

    Campbell's way off the mark here.
