Because the oracle and friends absolutely slated Steele so I expected to see him letting in soft goal after soft goal but unless I've just watched highlights of another game all I saw was a midfield and defence disappearing gifting them opportunities which left steele with pretty much no chance He conceded a penalty because he had been left totally exposed and in a situation where there was only him within 30 yards of their player. Is that his fault? No it's the awful defence's fault He pulled off a decent save and then their totally unmarked attacker came and knocked it in. Is that his fault? No it's the awful defence's fault.
So would I with that shower in front of me. I'd be crapping myself knowing that every time they get the ball in their own half they were going to just walk straight past a non existent midfield and pass to an unmarked player to smash it into the top corner past me while teammates stood and watched
I was just about to post new thread when I saw yours Watched all the goals closely and replayed. I might fault Steele with pull down for penalty but definitely not his fault for any others. Our defence was all over place with no support from midfield
I wasn't there. I listened to it on the radio. All I kept hearing from the commentators was 'another great save by Steele' so I was a bit flummoxed by the abuse he got. After seeing the highlights, the only mistake he made for any of the goals was bringing the lad down for the penalty. Rushed in too quickly for me. But to blame Steele in any way for the defeat is just bonkers.
I'd agree with that. he made a mistake for the penalty but a completely understandable one as he had a split second to make a decision after being hung out to dry by the defence again.
what about him coming out and there player going around him but thankfully he missed. Seems to do it everygame.
Is this every game on your 'special' copy of football spazeger? It must be because players don't take the ball round him and then miss an open net in every real game of football featuring real living employed human beings
He's been a rock recently. Put it down to a bad day at the office. He also apologised first thing this morning on twitter, unlike some. Naming no names. Dench.
Seriously. If nobody replied to his silly threads (just the silly ones that are blatant WUM'ing expeditions) then he'd soon think twice. Thing is, he's doing the same things he was banned for a while back. And if he gets banned again, we'll have folk clamouring for his return. I like him on here myself. But I'm not responding to his clear wind ups. But some folk love to, and so he'll keep on posting his ********. It's a cycle of ***** that's easily stopped.
Oh come on Hemmsy. Admit it, you are wrong to slam Steele for yesterday's result. Just like Jay, I listened to the commentary, who were praising him throughout the match, and have watched the highlights and was it not for Steele the scoreline could easily have been 7 or 8-nil. He may have had a couple of poor games, but not that many from what I have heard and seen. Please end these personal vendettas. It doesn't do you any favours and it really is quite embarrassing. I genuinely feel sorry for you.
The only thing that can stop hemsroyd is hemsroyd. Or a ban.* * I don't think he should be btw, reading his posts makes me feel better about myself.
So we can agree there were two mistakes in the game by Steele? Penalty and player rounding him only to miss. How many mistakes did Frimpong make? Mellis? Ramage? Hunt? The rest? They were all flawless? Never let a man past easily? Never misplaced a pass? Never failed to track a runner? You need to accept that you're a Barnsley fan and that we don't have world beaters in our team. That our best players leave. Always. And that we have to recruit players who - due to the likelihood of them making mistakes on or off the pitch - are fallible and not the equivalent of those at bigger, better teams than ours. Accept it and accept it soon or **** off and support Man City, Man Utd or Arsenal.
I think the goal after the penalty was crap keeping he saved it and it just went over his head for there player to tap in.. Still bad defending though
There was more than two, . Watched most of QPR vs Leeds before the game. It was chalk and cheese. He made loads of games. Was talking to someone in Walkabout last week (seen him a lot of Doddytyke ) and he wasn't happy with him either.
