When you are on your own, is almost a millitary operation.

    Child - Check
    Clothes for child - Check
    Ironing Clothes - Check
    Dolls - Check
Bag with nothing in - Check
    Dolls Pushchair - Check
Wash Face and Brush Teeth of child
Make sure they have gone for a **** before setting off on a journey that takes more than 10 minutes - Check

Honestly its a ******* nightmare as much as you love them. What happened to just being able to walk out of your house?

What happened to be able to go to the pub on a Friday if you werent at work?

What happened to being able to lay on the settee and watch 'sport' all day?

Aye - and you just get them to 4 and they can go to the loo themselves, don't need special food, don't need a pram and you see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel and the missis decides she wants another....

I don't want to wish their lives away - but hurry up and **** off to uni.

Honestly, I feel the same. My Oldest is 13, middle one 9 and youngest 3. Ive still years to go before I am able to get back to being able to focus on me, in a completely selfish way. I've even thought about sending them all to private school...

Don't think for a minute that it ends when they leave home, mate. I'm 68 and well into Round Two. Just spent today wiping arses, refereeing fist fights, trying to mend MouseTrap and trying to fit in my nap. At the end of the day, grandkids gone home, g & t in hand, it is worth it, though.
