The Sales channel I help lead was closed and my tenure at EON finally looks like it is coming to an end after 14 years of hard graft. Yesterday was the most emotional day I have ever had at work, having to be part of the process that had to tell 450 people it was time to close the doors and turn off the lights, whilst being affected by the decision yourself. But as always, I'm not bitter, I have enjoyed my time working for an amazing company. They have given me a career path that I never thought would exist, they protected me when I had personal problems early on, and they helped to support my development when I wanted to maximise my capability and push my career. Its a shame for the agents who might not have as many years service, its never nice to lose your job, in any circumstance but as one door closes another one opens and I am ready to move on and take on my next challenge. So, if anybody needs a Head of Sales or Senior Sales Manager let me know! PS I will be off for the whole World Cup, so happy ******* days!
Good luck mate. You're right, they were good to you looking after you when you finally came out, but time to write a new chapter. Joking apart, it's great you've got a positive outlook. I'm sure there'll be something soon - one door closes and all that...
On the recession of the early 90's I got made redundant - long term best thing that could have happened, massive career change. 'Enjoy' the World Cup and then you can get on benefits and offend everyone.
So sorry to that, old mate. Good luck in your hunt for a new job. You & your family have not had the best of fortunes in recent years. Now you've mentioned the World Cup, what's the betting that's when you'll start a new career(if not earlier)?
Sorry to hear that but good luck for the future. Maybe you can you sell electronic cricket scoreboards, commission only? Seriously, hope you get sorted soon.
Well, Ive got probably about 60 days of consultation plus 3 months notice at the very least. I'm going to taken my time to fine the right move next, if thats before or after the World Cup then that will be fine by me, its not as if we are going to win it! No need to be Sorry Kev, it wasnt a shock that it has happened and I am ready for the next move, I'm confident that there is the perfect job for me out there. If there isnt I'm going to open a shop that sells Hat Masks.
My last redundancy took to me to Australia for 18 months in 1998. I will take that experience to my grave, so bring it on.
All that time over there and still can't bowl mmmmm ? **** em, enjoy a break, enjoy time with the kids and then back at it.
There is life after working in that industry. I did 28 years across all levels in both junior and senior roles both operational and IT Took me three days to get another job and I was not even actively looking. I m 47 so I was going to retire But got an offer so I took it and enjoy it
More time for hobbies.... Night time hobbies.... There's loads of ****s out there who are stealing oxygen.
yes mate! finally got back on here after 2 years of trying! ...realised it was you after seeing your post on facey! 3 points tomorow! match is on tv over here aswell
I should be a detective. LOL I might need to get some info off you at some point. Stacy and I are contemplating moving to Dubai, Abu Dhabi for work so it'd be great to get your views.
You'll be laughing once you're bored of tossing it off. If you ever get stuck give me a shout, plenty of jobs going in ASDA car park.
Tip top quality attitude, although nowt unexpected. Just reading that it's obvious you'll be reight. Best of luck in whatever that is.
