Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. So if I hired out a 'venue' and stated it was C of E only I would be able to?
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. I don't believe that The Church of England would exclude non CofE people, as that would contradict the Gospel message IMHO. But Christians do organise events, which require the hiring of buildings/land for Christian events:- http://www.bigchurchdayout.com/about/about-the-bigchurchdayout
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. The CofE is a peace loving religion though unlike some
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. All religions have blood on their hands. Some more than others. But I wouldn't put Islam top of that particular list. I live amongst many many of them (Muslims), and work alongside many of them. In fact, my best pals at work are Muslim lads. Sound as a pound they are, and British. Folk need to get out there and experience reality, and not judge 'reality' on what they read in newspapers/online etc. Just my opinion.
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. Muslims have committed the most atrocities by a long way!
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. Really? I'm guessing history wasn't your strongest subject at school?
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. I don't think so, but what does it matter who's the "worst" anyway? All sorts of religious fanatics are the scum of the earth, and you shouldn't associate the somewhat "normal" religious folks with them. Here's a nice little song to brighten up your evening:
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. before my lifetime, and yours im sure, I only judge by what I see and islam is a horrible religion, the amount of deaths caused proves that
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. Islamic extremists are horrible, pal. Islam itself, is not. As I say, surround yourself with them/it. Immerse yourself in it, ask questions, get to know them. They're normal human beings who happen to have faith. And I say that as a Christian.
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. Yeah, let's just conveniently forget everything that happened before our lifetimes. It's like saying that football didn't exist before Sky Sports.
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. Reluctant as I am to be drawn into a "you did worse than us" GCSE History argument, can I point out - the re-conquest of Spain (the clue is in the name) came abpot because of the Islamic invasion of Spain. Also, can I respectfully draw your attention to the Battle Of Tours:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tours and also the Siege of Vienna:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Vienna Neither of which were an attempt to remove peace loving tourists from overstaying their Visa welcomes...... Therefore, we can look at the Cruisades and these battles mentioned above in strictly religious terms, but I think that is a somewhat limited approach to history. I am more than happy to defend Muslims in contemporary Britain, but I don't see the point in pretending that somehow their history is less troublesome than Christian history, this is a well trodden path of the liberal selective history brigade who would condemn our Christian heritage.
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. I guess we forgive Nazis before my lifetime. For once I agree with you in part I find all religions barbaric and violent and the cause of far too much death over the years. However being a relatively reasonable person I understand that this is not exclusive to any one religion.
Re: Dennis and his mates shut legoland - boo hiss. You are aware of course that there alternative name is the holy wars the clues in the title. Of course there were political agendas but the. Again most politics in Europe at the time was at the Kiktat of the Catholic Church I despise all religions equally myself. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ethics/war/religious/holywar.shtml
She wasn't dressed as Bin Laden or Hitler or Savile. Then an issue would be rightly raised. She will have only done it out of respect for someone she's a fan of and I don't think any malice will have been in it.
