Much better. Allows Mellis to play his natural game and not worry so much about defending. Protection for back four too. Hopefully we can use the width and get Jennings JOB and Mellis up with COG.

Also should be better on the counter attack.

I admired Wilson for persisting with 2 up front. He wanted to win and he wanted to score goals. We kept at it, but we weren't getting the results. The problem that we all saw, including Wilson, was that if you play 2 up top you can end up losing the battle in midfield as the opposition often have greater numbers.

That's why we signed Frimpong - someone with a lot of quality who could cope if outnumbered in midfield. I thought it worked at Donny (imho we were desperately unlucky to only draw the game) and at home to Millwall where Frimpong bossed the midfield. Unfortunately, it backfired spectacularly at Huddersfield and Frimpong's attitude has been called in to question by everyone who went (well, everyone bar Hemsworth). I guess Wilson felt the same as the majority as Frimpong finds himself on the bench (he can't be relied on just yet). With Frimpong out of the equation, the 2 up front experiment is over. We haven't another midfielder with enough quality to hold a four together.

I think he's done the right thing, although with 5 in midfield I reckon we've enough cover to start with McCourt.
