You like to say "baffling", which is fine.

But what is it about the comments that you are baffled about?

Where we sit, we've christened him "The Tin Man" (From The Wizard of Oz)

No heart at all. Fortunately the other 10 put a shift in and allowed him to hide.

Talented players are obviously not wanted at Oakwell.

Let's get ten Dawson's in there. Unbelievable.

    Talent is welcome.

Tell me though when Mellis displayed it today, such that his worth to the team exceeded Dawson's?

(though I don't think Dawson did much today)

I'd say it was me, but unless you're a 5 year old little lad, then it probably wasn't me you was sat in front of.

The berk is right though, Mellis was awful again.

As usual he was good on the ball but poor off it.

It's good having him in the team for the comedy of watching him jump for a header. He looks like an 8 year old who's scared of the impact. I'm sure he actually shuts his eyes mid-air

Listened to load of fans on way home doing same - they can't all be sat behind you surely. Personally I thought he was his usual self today - mainly anonymous.

Those headers he goes up for, or rather pretends to go for, but doesn't actually try properly...... drives me nuts. My 13 yr old daughter does that cos she's scared of getting hurt.

Why Paddy can't get a game in front of Mellis is beyond me, especially on that pathetic performance. Just a good job Forest were pretty poor, because for large amounts of the game we were playing with 10 men.

Mellis could do with a bit of all three.

That's by far the most accurate observation on this thread. :)

Mellis did okay today, better second half and a fine defensive header from a killer cross.

Thought mellis was quite poor today and many around me thought exactly the same, fairly invisible all game and as others have said seemed to be avoiding the ball at times. In all honesty when he was on the ball he didn't offer much either. He never got stuck in, I know he's not that sort of player but the way he goes about it comes across like he doesn't even care. It was typical mellis, you never know which one is going to turn up, some days you can't imagine a team without him and some times he's just invisible.
Also, you don't need a "team of Dawson's" to get some hard work.

Jennings is a perfect example that shows you can be skillful on the ball as well as be hard working.

So what? Anyone who thinks positive support affects a player's performance for the better, needs help. :D
