I don't know who 'Dingle' is posting on the Donny forum, but he wants to learn some history himself, the strike was in 1984 not '82 as his little rhyme suggests.

The pillocs that keep coming out with the tripe about Scargill using the miners . For feks sake what do they take us for. I'm sure that some ex miners that have of a bit of resentment for losing strike or have believed the sun or mail spouting their bile about him but wake up and smell the coffee. The evidence has been hidden till Thatcher popped but She was the lying bstd not scargill . She lied about poll tax,the Steele industry and her intentions for the coal industry.just as Blair allegedly lied about weapons of mass destruction. But Scargill told the truth and put his case to the miners and we responded.
And I am proud to have taken up the baton and fought to try and preserve our communities. I won't be joining some who are shamefully echoing the Tories and their press barons and using Scargill as a scapegoat.

Hoping to meet Doyle's to discuss it - get the feeling they weren't the ones that wanted it removing sharpish.

October 1982 was when they voted not to strike

Thats why Cardiff & Swansea fans sing songs about 82 at them

I notice some on the Pikeys board complaining cos they are deemed to be too SOFT..........has Ben chosen the wrong club to be chief exec???

I would hate it at the WELL if it became lame and tame

We should be proud of our hostile atmosphere.......Danny spoke about it when he was first appointed (second time around)..........so lets keep it going !!!

That's right and they also defied a national ballot on the incentive scheme so they did ave form ignoring natioal ballots as far back as 1926 thats why we had a national ballot to stop pit closures in 1982 but didn't use it till later weren't aware anyone gave em grief only on the 1984/85 scenario
