Think it could be a great opportunity to bring one of either...

    Decent left back

    or

Creative Midfielder who doesn't mind a tackle

    or

Goal poacher to run on to knock downs from O'Grady / Pushfit.

Personally from the above, I would like to see a good old fashioned goal poacher with enough pace to stay onside and get on to those missed opportunities in the box.. I might even say for the benefit it might bring, send Pederson back and look to the creative midfielder as well..

    Worth the gamble IMO.

Heard this yesterday! Now it's official. I think the club had little choice other than use the opportunity to its own advantage and get shut!

What a poor statement with no explanation. Better late than never but should have been sent back around 5pm other saturday.

What were you expecting? He's been dealt with at the earliest opportunity, he was left out of both squads and has been dispatched. That'll do for me

Well handled by both the club and Danny.

Obviously what Brek said to Danny didn't cut the mustard.

I don't think there's any need for owt more. We don't want to ruin our Stoke connection. We all know the 'issues' anyway. Keep an air of professionalism, he's gone. Line drawn, move on and hope he misses out on a World Cup place

I think it's best all round that he's gone back as the fans were clearly against him & rightly so.

I won't be one of these that classes him as **** though. I've watched football long enough to know you don't write anyone off after only 8 appearances but it just didn't work out for him with us.

He does seen a bit of a ****** though. Pictures on his Instagram eating out in restaurants with his hood up.

Glad he's gone. Well done the club. I think the lack of detail not only maintains a dignified silence but speaks volumes about what we really think- if you'll excuse the contradiction!

I think I'll be one of the few who is... not exactly unhappy, but I thought the lad had talent and could have helped us in the coming weeks. I'm not saying he's done owt of note up to now like, but I think he's capable and I'd prefer capable players in our squad. He may have continued playing *****, but it may have clicked and he could have won us a couple of games on his own. We'll never know now.

Nowt to get munk on about though and maybe we'll see more of McCourt now, or maybe not.

Just an explaination of what's changed.......

From: Shea giving a donation to charity and going on about paying us back with performances.

To: A two line statement saying he's gone back to Stoke.

    I'd agree with that.

Everyone is raving about Jennings yet in November folk wanted shut because he was '****'.

He sounds homesick and generally out of sorts with the English game. Stoke will have been a culture shock, let alone Barnsley. I've nothing against the kid and actually like the way he stood by Dawson. And his feisty little fan club could teach some of us a thing or two about being a supporter. It hasn't worked out, but good luck to him.

Luckily McCourts position will remain unchanged

Don't think folk wanted shut, mate. And he's on a four year BFC contract.

Shea wasn't our player, he had less than a month left here, had failed big time to do anything of note, and came across as a bit of a knobhead. So I wouldn't compare him with Jennings.

I suppose you could compare him to Chopra.

Paddy, Cywka and RNL are all better, all are our players, and all have scored/created in their limited chances out wide. Unlike Shea, who'll be playing for Columbus Crew and quickly forgotten within a couple of years.

I can't disagree with the decision to send him back but I must say the abuse being dished out was the worst I have ever heard given to our own players.
People seem to think because they've paid their 20 quid it gives them licence to whatever they think fit. I admit I'm a bit old fashioned( my first match was in 1947) but my attitude is support your team until the final whistle and the let them know what you think but never more than a good booing. Certainly no reference to their parentage or other personal attacks. The John Smiths Stadium was to me like a throwback to the Coliseum of early Roman times.

I think Danny is looking at further options, and he has to move someone out and his wage before someone else can come in. I would be surprised if there is not another player at Barnsley before the Watford match.

Aye. And most likely with a 50p release clause.
