Wouldn't have expected a man like yourself to take the piss out of the dead, mate. Not sure where a man goes on holiday has to do with the job he did or the person he was either.
I wasn't taking the piss out of him being dead. Just responding to the assassination comment. If it was read that way then I take it back
The precursor to that though was you for some reason making comment about his reputation for having a nice holiday. You were definitely taking the piss
He was a right lovely person was Bob Crow. If you disagreed with him he wouldn't just shout you down, he'd more than likely smack you in the face. But he was a right lovely person with the interests of ordinary people at heart. If I ever get myself in trouble I hope I have a right lovely person like Bob Crow on my side. There used to be loads of political speakers like Bob Crow. Now he's gone, I can't think of any. Last of a dying breed (to trot out a cliché that will be oft repeated throughout the day). I've no doubt the workers he supported will become gradually worse off without him. The politicians, who today will be singing his praises, will tomorrow be eroding away all the good work he did. Without his forceful personality there may be little to stop them. Let's hope a similar character can step up to the plate, but unfortunately these days, they're few and far between.
Heard Dave Hopper speak on Saturday, leader of the Durham Miners Association. F.cking brilliant. He was terrifying but brilliant.
Taking the piss out of someone's holiday habits vs. taking the piss out of their death? You know me better than that
obviously always did the best for his members and good at his job, but it has to be said that if you were looking for a face, figure lifestyle and temperament for a how to avoid a heart attack campaign he would have ben right up there! Not that it makes it right that anybody should die a that age but its true.
