Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers So you are in debt, so much for your economic credentials.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Perhaps that also has something to do with the fact we have only ever been out of the top two divisions for one season in our 120 odd year history? I'm not getting carried away, football success comes and goes. It looks like being our moment in the sun for the first time in more than a decade, at some point the dream will go to **** again, it always does.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers 'Solvent' and 'debt free' are the owner's words not mine.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Fair do's babylon. My response was in answer to the other chap saying "We'll never play you again" I've always enjoyed the battles we've had with Leicester since the FA Cup quarter-final in 1960/61. Until last night they've been reasonably close contests. I don't get carried away with this FFP ***** - we'd still be stuck down the bottom of the Championship given our turnover and the big city clubs would still be at the top. My main objection is that third rate players are being paid obscene wages and all of the money is going out of the game. Before the Taylor report we were making a profit on £30,000 a game turnover. Now we're taking in 10 x that but its all going on players wages. Any way good luck in the Premier League, despite what you might think, we're not blaming the fans.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Two words. Money Laundering.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Doing well. You?
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Not bad thanks, buddy. Good to see you back. Glad you had the balls to state those two words. I bottled it!!
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers What puzzles me about this is why would they convert debt into equity in a business that they already owned all of? They take a chunk of equity from themselves?
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers I like Barnsley, I do. I love going away to Barnsley and I hope they stay up. However, this thread contains some of the biggest load of crap out. First of all, anyone who claims we're in £100m debt is wrong, full stop! By bringing it up, do me a huge favour and please back it up with some sort of evidence because so far I've seen NONE! I know will not and most definitely cannot provide any as it won't be found because it's simply untrue. Will you next be going off and moaning about Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Fulham, Cardiff, Villa, Sunderland, Forest, QPR, Birmingham etc etc, the list goes on. You got well and truly beaten by the better team last night (yes, I was there), and simply coming back saying you'd rather be in your position... Hahaha SURE! A team flying top of the league destined for the Premier League, against a team soon to be rock bottom destined for League One. Utter utter b*llsh*t. We've done everything right financially over the last year and a half and only recently released this information: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...-FFP-despite/story-20749866-detail/story.html Please read this link and understand our great football club a little bit more before slagging us off. The bottom line for me is that I support Leicester. I cannot control the finances of my club. I cannot control which manager comes in and gets given money. The same could happen to Barnsley tomorrow, who knows!? Am I supposed to say, hang on, I don't support this so I'll have to find another team to support away from the place I grew up in. I find it absolutely pathetic that rather than meriting how we've come on as a club since we played last year (I was also there, worst game of the season), some select 'whiny baby' fans start moaning about what we wrongfully got labelled with under Sven. Get a life, and get a grip. There's only one team 99% of the world would rather be now, and that's us, not you. Respect to the decent (non-whiny) Barnsley fans, I sincerely hope you stay up. You won't see me whining about the likes of Man City next year.
Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chan... Wouldn't be surprised Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chan... I guess this thread is why we've had a sudden influx of Leicester fans...... http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/93399-never-seen-such-hate-for-us/
Think you've got to understand that spending good money to see your team getting smashed and having to listen to chants of 'we're just too good for you' whilst were grafting for our lives at the bottom of the division is going to get people riled up. Listen, if you want to pretend that the investment you made in the early days has had No impact at all on your ability to compete now, and that the last year and a half is some kind of new world then fine. But if youre signing players by selling players you bought through investment previously, and then claiming you're breaking even, that doesn't really ring true. I understand it's not a level playing field and am not bitter about it. All businesses invest to grow. But what gets my goat is the arrogance of people who pretend it is level and that you've got there on your own steam. Admit your investment is a key reason for your achievement and it'll be a lot easier to stomach. The fact you've improved since last year is completely irrelevant. Oh, and 99 per cent of the world would probably shrug their shoulders and appear confused whilst wearing a man utd shirt. But don't get me started on global marketing ...we'll be here all day.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Completely irrelevant... Hardly as 9 of our first 11 last night was with us throughout last season. You've completely misunderstood my post, which is awkward as it was in reply to those select Barnsley fans who have spouted inaccurate comments regarding Leicester City. I'm not taking away the fact you must be annoyed with your current situation, I would be too, but as I said before, fans stick with the club through everything. We're far from '£100m debt ridden, bailed out chancers', I mean what a load of sh*te that is, and the person who started the thread is clearly living in cuckoo land. If we get promoted, do you think we'll be in the top 15 of biggest spenders in the Premier League? I can tell you now that we won't be. You can't pick out one team for doing something that dozens of others have done but much worse, and to exaggerate with the facts and figures like some have is beyond pathetic. Take a look at this: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/transferbilanz/wettbewerb_GB2.html
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers We didn't play any other team last night, we played Leicester City, ergo ... You can work it out.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Good luck to Leicester. But we were promoted to the top flight on a shoestring, playing football you could only dream about. As I say, good luck. You'll need it for the next few years in my opinion.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers Well done. But it doesn't seem the core of this thread is about last night. Read the title. You can work it out. Thanks, I agree with you, we'll definitely need some sort of luck, especially to stay in the top flight. Although Stoke, Swansea, Southampton, Norwich, etc haven't done too bad. I really hope you lot stay up. Great club and the majority of top fans.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers We have a Cardiff supporter who regularly posts on here, he's part of the furniture. But trust me, he has taken all manner of stick the last couple of years. Not abuse, mind. Just a bit of stick, and rightly so. But like you, he was 'living the dream' and wasn't fussed about what 'might' happen. Then they changed their colours/badge etc. But they went up so that was ok. But then they sacked Malky and now I'm sure Bluebird is wondering if it was all worth it, in the end. I hope you enjoy it, and I wish you luck. But remember this forum, and these words, when Pearson is sacked after a run of 5 games without a win and your expensive foreign mercenaries aren't pulling up any trees, whilst Drinky and co who got you up are sat on the bench, or on loan at 'the likes of Barnsley'. Or better still, stick around, mate. Nice to have good debate with opposing fans.
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers I'll stick around. Certainly no aggression or abuse will come from me, I'm just stating my opinion and at times like instances above, the truth. I know a lot of Cardiff fans with sometimes travelling to South Wales for work, and their situation is a disaster admittedly. Our owners are nothing like Tan though, they will give Pearson the season at least (unless we're winless sat rockbottom by Christmas). It'll be interesting to see what happens, but I guess owners can be in a tricky situation as they all know how hard it is to get to the Premier League, they'll do whatever they can (sometimes wrongly) to stay there!
Re: Solvent, debt free, well ran club : 0 - 3 : £100m Debt ridden, baled out chancers It's not about whining it's about cheating and Leicester along with QPR and Bolton and the rest, are cheating. Spending money you don't have on players you can't afford. As for the debt? Here you go http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/F...s-huge-debts/story-20352762-detail/story.html The £103 million is still debt in our eyes racked up to get you promoted then changed in the way failing companies restructure debts when there is no realistic of payments being made see definition earlier in the thread re debt equity. I will be very happy if a well run well managed club like Burnley get promoted. I have No gripes against Leicester in fact I've a good mate who is a fan have been to loads of your games but what you are doing is unjustifiable and morally wrong. Destroying the soul of football. Clearly you are shitting yourselves about FFP hence the undignified scrambling in the courts.
