From what I've been told he was awful on Saturday and furthermore he has been a massive disappointment since he arrived. Him and Mellis have appalling attitudes.
People are mentioning Mellis but three of the 4/5 worst players on the pitch were Hunt and Lawrence Prochwitz and M'Voto
If any player is unwilling or incapable of giving his all to Barnsley Football Club, then he shouldn't be selected. His responsibility is to the club that pays his wages, not any particular individual. We've all worked with managers we didn't like, but it doesn't stop you from doing your job properly.
of course but anyone saying it's just the player that were here before Danny Wilson that aren't performing are mistaken
There's a huge difference between a player out of form and a player unwilling to give his all for the club.
I went both Frimpong and Dawson were abject as was the whole team barring Steele. If I were manager I would've wanted to sub them all.
You didn't want Wilson from the off. That's established. So now we can all expect a Steele and Hassell-eque campaign of laying every fault at his door, and ignoring anything he does well.
my thoughts on Frimpong was he was getting frustrated. I don't think hes yet fully fit either. I lost count in the first 20/30 minutes the amount of time he wanted the ball playing to him but it never came, Especially M'Voto who can't play in a team that wants to pass the ball about and go through the defence to midfield to attack. When you see Arsenal play at first team levels or even if you have a search on youtube at there u18's/ u21 they will all trust each other on the ball. He's expecting our players to be able to do that and he's either got to forget that type of play or the centre backs have got to hit him with it. Also our players seem to not understand what the other player wants in a pass. It's like here deal with this, a pass with no pace on the ball at the player receiving the ball. RNL when he came on actually gave the players around him what they wanted in a pass. Mellis for a player with so much on the ball ability's shocking at it.
Sorry Phil , but you continually lauding Frimpong when he is no better than any of the other bags of cack, does not make him a better player. If he wanted to play for Arsenal , then maybe he should have worked harder and made more of his opportunities he had there. There is a reason he is at Barnsley, that is no one else wanted him higher up the football pyramid. Since he has been here he has had ONE decent game, yes ONE. I hope he goes on to become the greatest midfielder that Barnsley have ever had, but I would not bet one single pound on him being any better than average. This is not a bullying post , just a different opinion, you are entitled to yours just like anyone else.
Fine Mark but I'm saying what i'm seeing. I don't sugar coat for anyone. Drinkwater would struggle to play in that midfield. let's put who he's got around him. He played right of the central midfield. Behind him centre back right, M'Voto behind him diagonal to the left, Nyatanga (had a good game apart from the first 10 minutes) To the left of him, Dawson directly infront of him, Mellis (worst player on the pitch) Diagonal forward right, Liam Lawrence diagonal behind right, Jack Hunt that was the circle he was in. That wasn't good enough. I would be annoyed if he didn't start on Saturday. He needs someone who can play the ball at the side of him or needs a Hassell who can and let him drive with the ball forward. Dawson can't do either. Lawrence offered nothing to his right going forward.
All our midfield Saturday couldn't pass a ball , frimpong and Dawson passed more to Watford than our own players . Apart from a decent game against millwall, frimpong has done nothing or shown anything
