A sign that Danny is staying long term, and is being allowed to start shaping his longer term vision? The last throw of the dice in the hope of a short term change of fortune? Or our new manager from the start of next season? Personally I sincerely hope it's the first. I don't need to bother articulating why, because this post does it for me: http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?207449-Wilson-has-no-bottle EDIT - wrong one. Trying to link to Jays post halfway down the thread! I'd like the board to disclose whether the deal lasts beyond the end of the season, and for Danny to come out and tell us whether he plans to be here. That way, those of us who understand that a manager needs more than 3 months to make an impact on a football club can have something to look forward to next season, even if it is in league one.
The post you accidentally pasted is exactly the reason why Wilson SHOULD MOVE ON at the end of the season.
Completely disagree with you, and can see from other threads that you're in a minority. But, if he isn't going to stay beyond the end of the season, I'd expect him to go if/when relegation is confirmed. In which case why bother with the assistant? Out of interest, are you really saying that your perception of Wilson's substitutions over a 3 month period is the reason you're advocating him leaving? By the way, I don't think he's done great so far. He could have done far better. Some team selections have been difficult to understand, his signings haven't paid off, and we haven't been positive in my opinion. Doesn't alter the fact for me that we need to stick with a manager for a prolonged period to have any chance of success, and Danny offers as good a track record as we're ever likely to attract again.
