That is just guess work. If positive substitutions had been made we could have been 2 or 3 down. If Steele hadn't been on form we could have been 2or 3 down by half time.

And what has Mellis done to even suggest he could make a difference?

He made 2 attacking subs to go for the win & had to keep one in reserve for in case Ramage pulled up which he had to use.

There's plenty of reasons to criticise Wilson this isn't one of them

He made a like for like substitution at half time. He brought Mellis on 15 minutes too late.

As long as we don't have to wear Lycra I'm in. I would have got away with it once, many years ago, but not anymore :p

This ought to be made a permanent sticky. Also printing off and posting to the club.

    *round of applause*

How did he make a like for like substitution ? He took off a fullback and brought on an attacking winger! One that people have been moaning about not playing, yet again when he does play he is ineffectual ! So while I agree that they didnt work out, I disagree with your argument, but that is not what you want to hear !

Amen! I agree with every single word of that, totally.

I am really worried that some people's inability to think medium to long term is going to cost us the best manager we could hope to attract in the next few years. I just wish the club would get on with it and offer him a long term contract now. That way, any of the wasters who think they can toss it off for a few more weeks and see him off will realise that they need to pull their fingers out of their arse and work to prove they deserve to stay here.

At the end of the day redarmychris's original post has hit the nail well and truly on the head.
As regards for the deluded fans even the most avid Wilson fans probably accept that things have not worked out as well all hoped.

No they haven't but to consider getting shut because he hasn't rescued our disaster of a season and not give him longer to build a side is barmy

Nope , I dont see it like that, but then again I am not one of those that never wanted him here in the first place ! If you didnt want him , then all you will see is a disappointment and a vindication of your viewpoint. Not that the squad of players he inherited was a bag of cack and although he has signed some players, they have not been the ones he would want if he had a pre-season to work with .

I never expected for him to rescue our season with what he inherited, but i would have expected some sort of improvement.
My youngest son ( Sadly a Sheff U Fan ) warned me what his tactical approach would be and he was spot on.
I'm a season ticket holder but won't renew i'm afraid if he is still in charge.
I will pick and choose which games I attend and will always support Barnsley as I have in the last 37 years.
I will not be the only one who won't renew with Wilson at the helm.

    Summats not right here.

Your son warned you about his tactics. But you have supported us for 37 years.

You not remember him being in charge last time and his tactics then....

How have you managed to raise a Sheffield United supporter? I'm intrigued.

I suspect that there will be a good deal more who wont renew if Wilson is NOT at the helm. Myself included.

    No he didn't.

Cwyka's more attack minded than Hunt & Mellis more than Woods
