Erm....Flitcroft did it last year. Clough is doing it at Sheff Utd "As Such" is doing it at Wednesday. Yes - with the talent in our side three months was / is enough. If it were anyone else but Danny I think he would have been sacked already! He's shown scant regard for the fans and a level of decision making which frankly is unbelievable - hypocracy and double standards and most importantly a failure to communicate his bizarre decisions. 1. Dawson being made captain instead of being shown the door. Danny should be sacked for that alone. Whilst I see Dawson tries - he can just about put a tackle in. In everything else - other than perhaps brown nosing the boss - Dawson is a simply not good enough to play on Athersley wreck nevermind Oakwell. 2. Not playing Cwyka or McCourt. Danny says they are lazy - then plays Brek Shea and Mellis! ... OK one waste of space has been shown the door - but two potential match winners on the bench but Danny says we have to do everything we can to win - but then fails to do everything that can be done to win. 3. Not playing the kids. If we are going down - at least blood the kids stop playing no hopers like Mvoto, Kennedy, Ramage, Woods..... Or give RNL the chance everybody says they want to give him. If we're going to watch **** players lets at least watch our **** players that might improve. Like I said - anyone other than Danny I would be absolutlely calling for his head - not for the results - the results I can handle - but for the logic - or lack of it.
Aye drop our only in form player who has prevented us conceding about 15 goals in the last 5 games smart move.
You say he patted the ball in the air when in reality he made a point blank save. No vendetta here lads, move along.
Thanks for replying at last. But your selection shows just how hard Danny has it. I'd go with this, assuming all are fit: Steele McLaughlin O'Grady Nyatanga RNL Paddy Mellis Etuhu Cywka Proschwitz Jennings Which also shows how bad Danny has it. My team is offensive minded. Most of our technicians in there. Dropped the worst three (Big John, TK and Dawson). Jennings can drop back and form a five man midfield if need be. It would require Etuhu, Mellis and Paddy to put in a Brighton away performance again. Also, I'm hoping O'Grady can perform better than Big John at centre half. I reckon he could. RNL and McLaughlin are attacking full backs. Let's ******* have the basterds. Or summat.
Steele McLaughlin Hassell Nyatanga Kennedy Jennings Frimpong Etuhu RNL O'Grady Pederson Subs: M'Voto Digby Dawson Turner Cwyka / McCourt Proschwitz Mellis No Woods who I thought was awful Saturday. Kennedy keeps his place due to a lack of alternatives I've left Hunt out as apparently he's not fit enough due to an ankle problem. I've brought Etuhu back as I don't think he's bad in the centre. Frimpong replaces Dawson simply because Dawson was poor Saturday & not because I rate either
I disagree. To me it's quite balanced and would battle and do well. you disagree. Fine. you don't need massive players at the back for reading.
So you'll drop the MOTM for last 2 games? Either you are clueless or on a wind up mission. Plus I dont know why you persist on wanting Frimpong playing, he's been our worst player since he joined.
"Luke Steele's superb, reflex save deserved better.." Said the guy on Late Kick Off last night. Gerrim dropped.
I don't think any sensible fan wants a manager sacked after 17 games especially one who took over a bottom of the table side it's just plan daft. While we have sacked far too many managers over the last few years even we haven't been daft enough to do it after so little time. The examples you gave of managers coming in and gaining instant success are very selective far more fail to change anything look at the bottom 3 in the Premiership even as we speak. Sheffield United second biggest club in the division, play offs the year before. Wednesday another team with individual players who cost more than our entire squad and again based on budget should be the mid table team they now are. "The talent in our side" an interesting comment. One of the reasons we are playing negatively (I believe) is that Danny does not trust many of the players he inherited. Looking at our team dispassionately there is little talent. I can only thing of the following players (BFC players) who have the consistent ability to play Championship football. Cranie, O'Grady, Hassell, Steele, (potentially Jennings. Out of those five two are injured. The rest whilst they may flicker into life occasionally are not good enough consistently enough to play at Championship level. I like both Cwyka and McCourt but one has constantly failed when starting and the other we can all see his faults as well as his genius but yes I'd be starting with one or the other. The young players it's understandable that Danny doesn't want to chuck them in the deep end of a relegation battle and it is a gamble that could go either way. Personally again I'd like to see at least one of RNL, Rose and Digby starting every game. But while we gave a chance of staying up. it's a big call given the finances at stake. I agree Danny is making mistakes keeping Kennedy, M'Voto and Dawson in the side is difficult to defend other than to say we lack real options and most successful teams are stable teams and we changed a lot in January anyway. 3 months is not enough for any manager in any walk of life to make a real impact. The club is paying for several years of underinvestment and short term thinking and we need a long term plan and a complete change in approach.
Phew, thought I'd needed to test my ears out at doctors!! Hemsie, get to doctors to have ya ears looked at!
