Forum Closure Notice - Monday 10th February 2014 It is with regret that we have to announce the immediate closure of the forum, which hasn't been an easy decision to make. Over the years the moderators have been accused of: - moderating too heavily - not moderating enough - being too anti club - being too pro club For all of these reasons, coupled with occassional personal abuse , we've decided that enough is enough and the forum is closing with immediate effect. Although this is the end of the forum, we've created a Facebook group called The Green Room where we hope the useful debate can continue. Hopefully the lack of anonymity on Facebook will help keep future discussions civil. Thanks for being part of the forum over the last few years.
I think you need to tag and recall this thread from time to time so that people can be reminded how the forum is run i.e. by volunteer moderators. The Yeovil forum just shows what can happen if admin gets fed up of immature / unreasonable behaviour.
Funny that. Goes to show we aren't the only team with fans who go that way. Plenty of home views here.... https://twitter.com/search?q=#ytfc&src=hash&f=realtime
" Yeovil fan here - like to say a congratulations to Barnsley who thoroughly deserved their win, hope you stay up #BelieveInBarnsley #ytfc " There should be more football fans like this Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Interesting they think Facebook will "keep future discussions civil". If some of the comments I see on our clubs Facebook page are typical I doubt that.
Aye, but I think the "lack of anonymity" would be a factor. Way too many people on here say stuff they'd never dream of saying if folks knew who they were. Oh, and the ones who are not civil on FB don't have to be moderated by us - they can just get on with their stuff.
Too right... can you imagine broadcasting to folk round here you're a Tory. No thank-you. My family wouldn't be safe with some of the idiots on here.
I seriously struggle to understand most of what is written in the comments on our fb page. Either they all have chronic arthritis in their fingers which prevents them typing properly, or their first language is not English.
There is another forum that opened up about three weeks ago but it hasn't really started getting busy just yet. It's www.allezyeo.net
How you enjoyed this season? Your club have been fantastic these past seasons with all the promotions. It would be great to see a club of your size stay up. Obviously not at the expense of us but maybe Millwall, Charlton and Birmingham/Blackpool can bugger off
Thanks chaps for the kind comments. I'd hope we both stay up, small clubs beat the odds etc but somehow I think it will be a real struggle for us now. Our fixture list is a little kinder than others with Brighton being the highest placed team we still have to play. But our season will mainly be determined by next Saturday (away to Blackpool) and Tuesday week (away to Charlton). Win those two and the dream is still alive but four points or less and that could be curtains. Have really enjoyed the time I've had following my club (I'm 45 and been watching since I was 3) and I even wrote a book last year on our decade in the Football League. If we could stay up this season, I think it would top everything that had gone before. Good luck for the rest of the season and as Dreamboy says above, lets hope some of the bigger clubs get relegated and not our two.
This season for Yeovil is very much like our flirtation with the the Premier League back in the day when you were nonLeague. Big teams to play for the first time and some unexpected wins (we won at Anfield and Villa Park). Every neutral wants u to stay up just like us back then. I hope u get another season at this level and obviously us too. This is our historical home where for u it is an adventure. Good luck with it, but not at our expense!
