I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Titans using Oakwell for the playoffs and, if they go up using Oakwell as their home ground?[IMG]

Why can't they play at the New York Stadium? Our pitch is bad enough without having twice as much use as normal

Surely there are pitches in Rotherham they can use? Unless they're going to pay us a fortune (which will enable us to repair the pitch) and I've no doubt that's not the case, then we should say no imo.

    1. They're a Rotherham club, play in Rotherham, I believe there is an empty stadium there

    2. Why would we want rah-rah-rah rugby at Oakwell?

Definitely not. Our pitch is sometimes barely usable as a football pitch. Never mind playing rugby on it!

Tony Stewart refuses point blank to let them play there, and Clifton lane (their home ground) is not acceptable for the premier league. They're using oakwell for the play offs in a few weeks as the cricket season starts and they can't use Clifton lane.

Last time they played at Millmoor, they paid for a new pitch.

Is this 100% going to happen? When will it be?

Yes, the play off are in May, and we are the nominated ground if they win the playoffs.

It's a shame for the town of rotherham that the football club won't share their ground which was largely funded by loans and loan guarantees from the council.

My Titans fan mate said the same, the Chuckle Bowl is a community stadium so Tony Stewart should allow the Titans to share. But he won't so the only two choices were us and Mansfield.

I am pretty certain that The Sheffield Eagles are using Owlerton dog track for their RL games, maybe Rotherham Titans could ground share there ?

They were originally to share but the titans pulled out late and refused to pay anything towards it putting the stadium in doubt at the time which is why theyve been told to bugger off now theyve come crawling back.

Got to agree with the majority. Our pitch is well worn to say the least so adding rugby on top of that would leave it in a terrible state.

Unless they're paying us a load of money and re-surfacing the pitch every time they use it it's a big no from me as well.
