    surely the simple argument is, and god forgive me for saying it is a points deduction for the team whos fans are guilty of the offence, I mean if you're a fan you're not going to risk dropping your club in the doodoo ?

    Safety officer Chris Patzelt said: "Middlesbrough Football Club remains committed to providing a safe environment for all supporters to watch football and will take action against any person who threatens the safety and reputation of both our supporters and the club itself in this manner.

    "Supporters are reminded that it is a criminal offence to bring pyrotechnics into, or possess them in, a football ground."

    So that's where he ended up, thought he was a decent bloke at Oakwell.
