A Barnsley fan apparently. Plus I heard Morgan on about another young Utd player from Penistone.

Do we actually do any scouting in the locality ?

It's sad like that they slip under the radar. But I'm sure every club suffers the same. We can't expect (as other clubs) to have 15-20 Tarn lads in an academy team. Dont get me wrong as it'd be nice, but never gonna happen !

Heard same from a few lads that run teams in the area.

Surely a fundamental would be that we look on our own doorstep ?

Clubs are clever these days and invite teams in for tournaments or just one team to play an academy side so the scouting is done at the academy, that's how my lad was spotted so to speak and they do talk to scouts from other bigger clubs eg Man City and United and get lads that way as well.

Goodness, this type of thread is why I don't hardly read the forum anymore never mind post on it.

Okay so what that Sheffield United got a local lad. So what.

I've seen him play, he's okay nothing more.

Are scouting systems that bad compared to those in Sheffield that we beat the Sheffield clubs to many players like George maris, Harrison Biggins
    and Sheffielder PAUL DIGBY.

Same old sh*t from the same old posters

I remember reading "lifting the cup" and in those days, half the players came from teams like Wombwell Main, and then the next year were in the FA cup semi- final. I wish football was like that again!
