With regards to BT's comments in the Chron, would you rather stay as BFC with no investment or be called Barnsley Tykes with £70m investment.
Re: where is this £70million coming from then... Just what Baz Taylor said in the Chron in relation to the Hull Tigers/Allam thing.
Re: where is this £70million coming from then... It wouldn't be the "Tykes" though. It would have to be the Dragons or similar. Hull City was an obvious choice because of their long term relationship with the Tiger and the tiger being a powerful marketing tool in the far east. I'm not sure Toby Tyke will bring in the dollars for any investor - apart form maybe a Korean fast food joint.
Re: so is this gonna spark off another take over thread Only if weirdos bring one up when one's not been mentioned.
Re: where is this £70million coming from then... This is what Baz mentions in the Chron though, Barnsley Tykes.
Re: where is this £70million coming from then... Yeah...I'm not sure whether he's naive or thinks other people are: Is he saying come over here Mr. Assam and bring your bags of gold with your and call us the Barnsley Tykes - and being dumb that Barnsley Tykes is what someone would want to call us. Or is he saying come over here Mr Assam - forget them ungrateful so and so's at Hull. Once you've told our fans you've got 70 million sovs in your pocket you can change the shirt to a raving pink colour and change the name to Sheffield Blue Oyster Bar Spoff Sandwich United if you want.
And when the colours have changed, and the ground has been moved to Wakefield or Leeds (easier to get to, bigger crowds etc) what then? Oh, and the name has been changed to attract more supporters. Be careful what you wish for
